Title: no miles desplay???

can any one help got in fd yesterday started up fine but the miles clock is not showing the back light is on but there are no miles desplayed nothing?? was fine the other day any idears be great many thanks all..

There is a common issue with FD displays, they can fail unfortunatly.

Try disconnecting the battery for a short time then reconnecting, that sometimes does the trick :Santa

thanks will try that to day if the unit is gone whats best to do,? replace with standard or are there different types i can use ,also on standard clocks can you set them to my original miles or start from 0 ?? thanks again.

Just replace the speedo or the cluster would be your easiest option, you can\'t just reprogram the miles so try to find a set with similar miles.

thanks, tryed disconecting batery with no luck the serch begins 61500 miles was last reading many thanks rx-dave.

This has happened to me. Has happened before  and usually just comes back on after time. Does anyone suppose it could be connected with the speedo km to mph conversion calculator? Loose wire perhaps? From conversations with one of these \'mileage fidler\' blokes, it\'s a sealed unit and can\'t be messed with.
