hello all owners, i need some info on idling, my fd is boosting fine and starts fine in any weather ( so far ) but when the car is cold it will idle around 1.5k but thats cold so i think its fine... correct me if wrong please. but after the car is warmed up and been driven around i still see the rpm at 1.1k or 1k then i give it a little rev and i get it back to something like 900 rpm... this has been happening for a few days now.. and im running on a stock ecu ... am i thinking too much or is there something i can do to help it ? would a sticky throttle cable be the problem ? or some other silly thing i aint thought of ?
i think that is normal if you havent mod the butterflies but im sure some 1 will correct me if im wrong
mine idles at 1.1k, thats what carl at hayward rotary set it too
oh really ? i thought it would sit at around 900 ish ? cos when stuck at lights or traffic its kinda annoying hearing the engine at a high note... maybe its just me being a bit funny ?
My cold start kept sticking on for months so everytime I turned my car on hot or cold it would idle at around 2300 rpm.... not fun when your sat in traffic next to a police car!
lol cold starts is a thing for me too.. but i try the clutch down and stick it in 1st gear and starting the car but it still seems to rev to 2k rpm still, but mine will drop back down after the car is warm tho... since im on the topic am i doing something wrong to try stop the cold start high reving ?
then for some reason my only rev to 1100 rpm on cold start and settle to 8-900 rpm once warm is that normal
anybody els got any info on this ?? seems like something is wrong :s
Not sure i know my cold start thingy near the throttle body (not sure the technical term) was sticking so it was keeping it on for ages everytime but I dropped my car off wit Carl anyway the other day and he said he\'d sort it :Thumbsup!
