Hell with it, I\'m not waiting for a poll, I\'m just doing it!
Trailer is still being stubborn, mud is relentless, even after jacking up, getting some thick gym mat type things and plywood boards under the wheels after filling in the ruts. It\'ll be worth it in the end!
Eh????????????????????
Ha, beat Ben too it!!
900 hundreds channels available on Tv and not one of them can produce a seriously good programme these days.
To much money being spent on realty tv shows such :censored::censored::censored::censored:ty xfactor!!! Aargh, I really hate that programme.
No one can take offence in this thread BTW, if you don\'t like what you read then don\'t read it.
For anyone confused this thread is for anything that you can\'t stand, hence "what grinds my gears!!"
if anyone is wondering about my first post...
as Will knows, but not a lot of you other guys do, I recently got a static trailer with the missus for us to move into so we can move out of our respective homes... lets just say, the snow really didnt help, now the thaw and rain we\'ve had has made it even worse... I\'ll let the pictures do the talking...

it just sank straight to its axle and chassis rails. We managed to jack it up and get some bricks under both wheels, it moved in the wrong direction and sank again. now the two pallet trucks we\'re using to jack up with have buggered up, one isn\'t holding pressure and the other has run dry so won\'t jack up at all... just a major pain, we\'re hoping to get some fluid in the dry truck and use that then shift it back into position tomorrow, but its a big hope, the tractor isnt getting very much grip in the mud, especially in reverse.
Oh, also, ripped my exhaust off on a bump in the field aaaand the PAS cooler pipe is STILL leaking!
and calm...
I\'ve just brought a cake, it\'s tasty. I\'ll post a pic tomorrow, it\'s cream, cake, nuts and what seems to be hard caramel chunks, the caramel bits stick in your teeth like they\'re glued! I\'m not exaggerating they\'re propper like cement.
The use of the word brought when people should use bought. This is an awful fail, when you buy something you have bought it. When you bring something with you, you have brought it with you.
Sorry Ben, it\'s not directed at you. I see it on all Internet sites.
It\'s jus the same as when someone says " can I lend a fiver " it\'s supposed to be "can I borrow a fiver"
Skiff if you need any advice ect then drop me a line... its one of my lines of work :P
Cheers Aston, just read the text, I think we\'re nearly there, the main issue now is getting the tractor tyres some grip because they\'re just slipping in the mud.

In the spirit of this thread then can I jump on this too. It annoys the buggery out of me too, although I ain\'t the best at using the Queens English either!
Oh and Skif, They call them statics for a reason mate!
Yes I know, but I\'d prefer it was static where I need it to be, not 15ft away.
This is not the weather to be moving Vans Skiff specially on that ground
Don\'t I know it! but its already been 2 odd weeks, it needs to get done otherwise Vicki will crucify me.
What grinds my gears?
Currently, my cats fighting at 0300. My girlfriend\'s inability to understand the term "lie-in". The price of petrol. The price of diesel. Forum warriors. Dyno queens. But particularly mortgage statements, last year\'s one turned up today, and it highlighted that every time I pay the mortgage, about 50% of what I pay is interest charges, in other words it\'s lining someone else\'s pocket. I know it\'s a necessary evil because I don\'t have the cash to buy a house lying around but it\'s grinding my gears seeing a lump of money I worked for going to some faceless organisation just for the privilege of lending me money.
On the upside tomorrow\'s Friday!
Skiff, if you want some muscle moving a caravan I spent my youth doing that with my old Landie.
I think we basically have it sorted, just need to jack up one side again, fill in the rut a bit more with something a bit more solid, put something under the tractor tyres that will let it gain grip and we should be away.
thats an ungodly hour to post mate !!! :D
Top gear fixed your problem a few series ago:

In my defense Monkhouse, i was using iPhone and i often spell wrong due to my fingers being to quick for the phone, or hitting the wrong button. Then the auto correct changes it to either brought or bought, but thanks for clarifying the use of the 2 words :Giggle
In other news the shop accross the road has ran out of Lucozade, which ruins my morning routine and i\'m less than impressed with him. Least they always have shark in stock, but its not the same to be honest.
Skiff where the hell are you siting it mate?
Also how long you planning to live in it?
Just trying to get some info so i can help point you in the right direction
Grinder, I was just finishing work, lol
Aston, I\'m siting it at home, living on a farm has its advantages, I think we\'ll be living in it for a few years, just can\'t afford to get a flat or anything.

Filthy roads. Washed my car yesterday, been to work and it\'s been raining most of the day, now my cars full of muck and road salt!! Aargh. Waste of money

Quote from: B.Martin;812724Why have you got?
3 pigs, 1 donkey, 1 horse, 1 pony, 5 geese, loads of chickens, 1 ferret, :censored::censored::censored::censored:atiels, 1 barn owl, about 5 cats... Umm I think that\'s it.
Awesome, quite like animals we do but our dog is more than enough trouble!
Also there is an outstanding rule set down by the man of the house (me), that we are allowed no further animal additions to the house hold until I\'m allowed a spider. By spider I mean of one my choice like a chiliean rose tarantula or similar, not like a garden spider in a jar or something. I don\'t see her objection to be honest!
I can, hate spiders, creep the hell out of me
Me too. Never bloody liked the things. Not really sure how people can keep them tbh. It\'d freak me out!
I have no problem with Spiders, I\'d prefer a snake though. However with 3 cats, two chickens, a rabbit, two budgies and some fish I don\'t think I can justify any more, particularly since a lot of those are easily lunch for a big snake.
Snakes I can deal with, in fact, I really like them, can\'t justify owning one though, but handling them, having them round my shoulders, I think they\'re great. When I went to Singapore, I had one that was about 10ft long round me, loved it.
I just find spiders fascinating, you know 8 legs, 8 eyes, produce a web that that on a larger scale would be the strongest material known to man, add in some venom and other natural defenses, I just think they awesome and they look cool.

I\'ve got some bearded dragons coming soon. Can\'t wait :)
Update on the trailer, we got it further than it was before it started snowing! But then it went through the plywood boards and got stuck again... Humph... Oh well, jack up, re-enforce, repeat, should be done soon. Hopefully.
Forgot the grey cushions for my delivery this morning, minor fail.
My personal recent fail: being diagnosed with skin cancer, and surgery coming up to remove my right thumb....

what grinds my gears is- government capping benefits at £27000 a year! wtf! i am a mechanic own a big box of snap on tools, have the rex and my vectra sri, own my own home and everything in it and i DONT earn that a year, how the hell can somebody who cant be bothered to find a job have more money than someone that works for a hard 44 hours a week!

Sounds about right to be honest, these lawyers/financial broker people seem to earn a hell of a lot from doing bigger all!
The stupid thing is that i could change my current account to them (as i dont bank with them at the moment) and they would give me £200 just for that.
It\'s all so daft that it\'s laughable
Adam
Yeah you have to stay with them for a year usually and you don\'t get the £200 until end of the second year or something, I remember looking into it.
Sounds about right. Draw you in with an offer but keep it at all times at arms lenght!
Adam
Are you describing women there or banks?
You decide :p
Adam
Yeah I asked Gemma what she thought and the first thing she said was women! Now that\'s an inside view, they do it on purpose!!!
God knows my missus does it to me

How\'s it a fail anyway, at least i can drive my car again now without it leaking into the footwell.
Anyway, what annoys me is being out in my car and getting stuck behind a tax dodging traveller on his horse and trap! Get out of my way. FECK!!
Adam
It was more the fogged winscreen fail, i\'m only joking anyway don\'t worry. You better now or still ill?
Doing fine now thanks mate :Thumbs-up

Great stuff, I seem to have hurt my back. More than i\'d like to be honest, Gemma recons it\'s a trapped nerve but it\'s pretty damn painful. I feel like an old man, but it\'s a good excuse to sit on my arse tonight and let Gemma do everything :Giggle
Was going to work on the car and get all the bits that needed replacing off, but it\'s chucking it down... Need to build a garage I think.
Hopefully the rain has stopped here for the rest of the year now!

My g/friend (Elaine) is away in Finland studying just now so I wouldnt be so lucky, so I suppose that\'s 1+ for you that she is around!
Yeah to be fair though it\'s kinda the same everynight lol, she isn\'t working at the monent so she is on \'wife duty\' haha. I\'ve cleaned the car today but not managed to driver her due to time and people coming round, so that\'s my fail of today.
Had a new thing annoy me today.
I updated my internet browser (Explorer) and its changed all the layout of the page. Favorate list in different place, no status bar avalible on the bottom of the page and other things too.
Why do they have to change things when i was happy how they were :o
Adam
I personally use Chrome, its a lot easier to work with, plus the top 8 pages you visit the most appear on the new tab screen for ease of use.
I use Firefox, beat this this then... Woke up this morning to find a tick crawling on me, obviously it was off the dog! Not a nice thing to find at 6am, very difficult to go back to sleep. The boy is in for a day of anti ticking with a new collar some front line and a rather good shower with anti beastie shampoo.
Horrible things they are, I hate this time of year for horrible beasties!
Anyone ever get migranes? I hate that part before the headache where your vision goes funny, i get a line across the top of my sight and one at the bottom and sometimes one at the side. It always starts with a blurred spot in the middle of my vision though.
Migranes = Fail.
Car won\'t start this morning, booked in for an MOT as well -_-

Why has my car turned into a mobile swimming pool thanks to all the rain we\'ve been having in this drought!!!

Oh I lied.
25c today and not a cloud in sight :Giggle
In the mean time, the car is infact flooded and that\'s why it won\'t start. My spark plug socket is missing from my socket set and I\'m unamused by this chain of events.
14mm socket. If your car has the original kit, there should be a socket type implement in it, just changed mine over to new oned and daaaamn what a huge difference! It doesn\'t even feel like the same car!
I don\'t have original kit, only the jack and the wheel nut thing. A freind came round and we sorted it anyway, she is all up and running now. Not got any fails today so far but its getting bloody warm!
Can\'t get an MOT until i\'ve paid the import tax -_-

Can anyone tell me when it became the norm to sell cars without tax or MOT? I seem to remember a time when sellers would bust a gut to try and get their cars at least MOTd before they try to sell them. If there wasnt tax and MOT it was usually because the car was either a total wreck that you could tell from a mile away or something really special that had been dry stored.
It really annoys me that people say that they wont tax and/or MOT the car they are selling because they dont have the time. Yeah, thanks, you obviously dont have pride in your vehicle and you obviously dont want to put any effort into selling it. Dont you have any idea how bloody hard it would be to organise travel to buy your car, get insurance and the certificate for a car you may not even buy because you havent been local enough to check, book an MOT at a nearby garage/MOT station, get any possible work sorted out before the MOT, get tax sorted out (especially as the dvla\'s elbow doesn\'t know what the hell its arse is doing), then try and get the car home again. Possibly unroadworthy/untaxed/uninsured/absolute piece of crap because it didnt pass mot but you couldnt get it checked before buying it.
My advice to anyone selling their car, unless it really is a huge lump of sh*t that you are selling, put some god damn pride in your motor vehicle, spend an extra bit of time and money putting a £40 MOT on it or at least try and help the buyer that will be trying to sort it out for your lazy arse instead of just saying that if you put an MOT on it you\'d bump the price up a few hundred quid.
My response to the lazy car sellers out there... F*CK YOU!
Grrrrrrrr my laptop is stuffed so I have to use the phone. Also I hate "experienced know it all machine operators" who can\'t(won\'t) process and screen aggregates properly. They don\'t listen and take advice from someone who has been doing the job as long as he can remember(me) and yet when I show them how to do it,it works. They then slag you off to the boss and say you are doing a crap job.
At least the sun is out
So went to the port today, to sort out the import tax on the car to then register it in Cyprus. I went to try and get them to acknowledge that the cc is 1308 just like every other rotary car in Cyprus, cut a long story short I\'ve ended up with the car impounded as I was supposed to have done it last year.
This should now be a long and drawn out ball ache.
Now that could be the winner right there! Gutted for you Ben. Hope you get it sorted quickly mate.
