Over the last couple of weeks, I\'ve noticed the carpet behind the passenger seat was soaking wet! after wet weather.
I\'m not sure if the water is coming in from under the car, or though seals on the upper bodywork (Not easy to see underneath as I have lowered suspension).
There is no visible signs of water comming in other than the wet carpet.
Has anyone had or heard of this problem before? Any suggestions appreciated.
Has your car got sunroof???????????
Gary
Sorry - No sunroof. But the water is only behind passenger seat, so me thinks its a hole on the underside or passenger door / Boot seal.
Rgds, Andy
Check your tailgate for sealing at the top.
Maybe take off the trim near your tailgate and see if there are any water marks.
Think maybe it is coming from above...if the mat was really soaking it\'s unlikely that the amount of water needed to do that could come \'up\', if you know what i mean?
Good luck getting it sorted though bud.
I had same problem on drivers side. Replaced door seal and problem solved !
I bought a 2nd hand one from \'jimmys\'.
My original had only small split at top but it seemed to be enough to let water in.
does the car have aircon? cos if so, there is a drainage pipe in the front of the passenger footwell that drains to the outside of the car. if that pipe has been caught and pulled inside the car, guess where it drains to... Had me going for weeks, that did!
Archbish, You are spot on Mate!!!
I would have never thought of that in a million years!
I was convinced that the leak was under and behind the passenger seat (that\'s where the water was) - But my car has RX fitted carpets on top of the stock carpet in the front footwells, so I could\'nt feel them wet.
Might put a dab or two of rubber glue to stop it coming out again.
Thanks again Archbish, and thanks to all others that contributed "we got there in the end".
Andy
