Title: oil and Individual Rotors
Post by: Mikey22 on February 12, 2012, 04:20:19 PM
Hey guys need a bit of tech advice,

Just sorted out my car and needed to put oil in it. I took a dip first and it was empty which is right as i drained the car.

Ive put oil in the car and taken another dip reading. Now the big dip stick at the back is still reading empty however the smaller dip stick at the front is saying there is plenty of oil in the car.

Which do i go by and is there a second oil filler cap which i have missed?

Cheers

Mike

is your car automatic as that could be the auto box dipstick (never seen an auto fd before just a guess), the oil dipstick is about 12" long

not quite sure really but one is approx 12\'\' long with a yellow top and is located just under the intake to the throttle body.

the other is approx double the length.

One under the tb is the engine dipstick and that\'s the one you need to an engine oil change. The other one of as stated above for the auto gear box and takes a different fluid.
