Couple of questions whilst im here, whats the tickover like on these mine seems a bit high at about 1200 - 1300 and a bit "lumpy" too is this a bad sign. Also oil pressure, i have 2?? guages 1 on the dash and another added below te radio they both read about the same but never go higher than the 3 mark, again is this a bad sign? It starts fine when warm as i have stalled it a couple of times (well i did come from an auto FTO) and goes like stink in fact i haven\'t had the balls to take it above 6k yet  and does it seem lowered to you experts? scraped the front lip already

Hope you like it, i know i do. :D

A common problem is the lower inlet manifold gasket going, especially on the early cars as they are paper as opposed to metal gaskets on the 1996+ cars. The air leak this causes is often responsible for high and eratic/hunty idle.

Bad news is its a bitch to change - between 5 and 10 hours labour depending where you go and if there are any problems...

TBH i think people that sell cars should have them in tip top condition before selling?

I have bought and sold quite a few cars as a hobby a while back and was not afraid to spend money on the cars to get them running brill, as a example bought a Nissan Skyline then discovered the cylinder head had cracked!:(  so got a new cylinderhead and new head gasket and drove until i was satisfied with the car then sold it on ebay didn\'t make any great money on it but satisfied with the car.

A few weeks later the guy who bought it rang me to say he had the car checked over and dyno\'d and the car was running absolutley spot on, 300bhp atw dyno so not bad:)
