Title: Juddering under load
Post by: C18WWN on January 18, 2012, 07:41:09 PM
Hey chaps

My car has just developed a stutter.
Gave it the beans off the line earlier and shifted at the limiter, the engine died for a second, so dipped the clutch to make sure it idled well incase i had to turn it off, fearing snapping a tip

It idles as it always has, and drives fine now, but every so often it cuts the power... once the clutch is dipped it revs free everytime, just under load it struggles once in a while

I\'m not sure if this could be down to the horrendous wet weather we\'re having and something getting wet, connector/sensor etc or whether you guys have had similar symptoms

Thanks in advance

When you say it cuts power is this only when your up near the limiter and does the engine run fine at all other times.

Also do you have any mods that have been carried out in the engine bay ?

not totally clued up the rex yet but for any other car id say something has started breaking down under load... check plugs, leads, coils for usual symptoms.... if that fails then check fuelling, pump etc... , sounds like a plug/coil breaking down to me tho...

i had a similair problem turned out it was the fuel pump, so i would check your fuel filter first, start with the cheap things ie plugs then go onto dearer stuff
