Totally getting fed up of this :censored:!
I have lost four good jobs (refurbs), in the last year, the most recent being today, because of my clients being gazumped, one including my sister who was buying a flat just before xmas! The only :censored: that win as usual are the solicitors, my sisters costs were the best part of £800!
This :censored: has got to stop, do i hear its different in Scotland? And why has nothing been done about this side of the border!
:reallymad
I thought that was illegal in the whole of the UK now ?
Doesn\'t sound good in the slightest !

Not that i know of dude, if it is, heads will roll, more so from my sisters point of view!
I\'m wrong, thought they outlawed it a couple of years ago

Either party can pull out up until the contacts are exchanged. You can also pull out after exchange but then there are penalties (as defined by the contact).
I\'m surprised there\'s gazumping in the current climate - it\'s a real buyers market and most houses are on the market for ages.
She was buying Ann and the property already had two previous sellers drop out because of lease/freehold issues, we were gobsmacked but it was a little fishy with its surroundings!
Which ever way, its wrong, once an offer is made that should be a binding agreement, except for survey issues, if either buyer or seller pull out they should be responsible for the others costs!
I know what you mean but the Scottish system also has it\'s issues.
It is still rubbish, and it\'s not just the costs - us girlies get our hearts set on it. I\'m sure we could have got a bit more off our house as it had been on the market for months and they had two previous buyers pull out. But I didn\'t want to risk losing it - I know it\'s only bricks and mortar but it was already my home. :o
I hope your Sister finds something nicer very soon.
I\'m just buying a house right now. If this happens someone is going to get a world of pain. Managed to get 5,000 off asking price which is good for us!!
