Out of the 124 genuine UK Spec RX7\'s how many are left?
I thought I would ask the question as the FD was first seen on the UK Roads 20 years ago (May 1992)

Does anyone own a 1996 UK spec registration N307 VPE? Montego Blue... If so, I would love to see some photos as its my dads old car. Bought it 1998 and had it for 2 years. It was a beautifully and meticulously maintained car.

Mine, and a few others i know of, are genuine 1999 Mazda UK dealership cars, Never driven or registered in Japan
The story i heard was that a dealership bought a boat load in from Japan brand new in 1999 but some got lost or damaged on the journey over and so only a handful (5-6...ish) actually made it. I can think of 3 right now i know of.
So the 124 \'early\' uk cars maybe rare but the uk \'99\' ones are almost like hens teeth ;)
Good to see that so far about 10% of them are still around. I wonder how many other sports cars of this age and rarity are still about

Does your car have a uk chassis number though? As the uk on is different from cars meant for Japan.

No i dont think so. Didn\'t have UK specs or rear bumpers either so yes they were supposed to be destined for Japans roads... just never got on them :D

My 5th FD 56K miles on the clock with "full service history" from Mazda and once serviced at RX Motors.

Need to buy 2 more FDs and then my dream of owning 7 FDs would be accomplished.. :D

Still have my one, she is a 1994 in red with very low mileage on the original engine. I bought the car direct from Mazda UK, and now the car is just a museum peace after being cleaned, serviced and anything that need replacing was done before being placed in secure storage somewhere in West Sussex.

Oh one other thing, she is never ever never to be sold!

Hello!
I've just re-joined this incarnation of the Owners' Club after many years of absence. My old beauty is one of the last genuine UK RX7's (so I've been told....) It's a 1995 (originally N427 FLC) in Montego Blue - purchased from Tamplins Mazda, Twickenham (it was their demonstrator with 1500 miles on the clock), so I'm the only registered private owner.
I've just had some renovation work done, but everything is original (bar the stainless steel exhaust). Have just changed jobs to one which will give me much more time off, so I'm hoping to get my life back and start to reconnect with the Owners' Club at a few events this summer!
Will be travelling to events on my own, most probably, so a little apprehensive - but looking forward to meeting you all!

You just missed a great event at Castle Conbe, which would have been a fairly close event for you.

- a meet at Mazda UK in Dartford, Kent. A bit of a trek, but with over 60 rotaries of all types registered, an event worth the travel.

Unfortunately, I was away with work on the Castle Combe day.....
I've expressed an interest in the Mazda Day on 7/7 and also the Beaulieu event on 29/7, using those dedicated posts. I'm not used to using forums, so I'm still getting used to navigating your website! I am much heartened to receive your reply!  :13:

Hi welcome back, you must be before my time..wow you had your fd along time...i intend to keep mine forever ...my first fd was montego blue lovely colour when the sunlight hits it.. hoping to attend the 7/7 day in my fd..so hopelly say hello properly there.

Were you a member of ROC (Rotary Owners Club) in the 90s I vaguely remember q blue FD.................I had a yellow NSU Ro 80 at the time?

Hello there!
Yes, it would have been the late 90's. I did the Classic and Sports Car show at the NEC twice, a Japanese meet at Billing and a couple of track days at Silverstone (though those were open events).
So, it might have been me!.....
