Title: Oil Control Ring Question
Post by: FD3S Efini on January 06, 2012, 08:41:29 PM
Iv got a choice at the moment for my rebuild,

I have 8 oil control rings  in the house that i will need to measure to see if they are in tollerance as  apparently they are quite hard wearing,

Well this is my choice would you  use ones that are in tolerance or pay about £200 ish for a new set?

Has  anyone got experience with using old oil control  rings?

Cheers

Kris

I used old ones, they were well within tolerance.
I was under the impression everyone used old ones, though I suppose if you were using new plates and housings and money burning a hole in your pocket you could buy new ones:)
I also thought they cost a lot more than £200
