Title: boost gauge reading
Post by: Squealy on July 01, 2004, 02:17:49 AM
What should a boost gauge read at idle on an fd?  Just fitted mine.  It sits at about -0.5bar and then runs up fine to +0.9bar.  I didnt expect it to read such a vacuum so thought I would check to make sure I have it fitted right.;)

sounds about right guages seem to read various values (as in measured in a different unit of measure as i recall) for -ve figures but yeah wont be 0 till the turbo/engine is just waking up c/o application of the loud pedal & from there it\'s guna party on & .9 seems a healthy but normal boost level, usually goes down & up again between turbo transition.....

Yeah it does drop again just before the 2nd turbo kicks in.  Just couldn\'t be arsed writing loads last night so kept it basic.  Anyhoo cheers Si just wondered as the pipe was nipping befind the dash so wasn\'t entirely sure whether I had it straightened out or not.  Its just more of this bloody paranoia which seems to come as a standard package with the rex:eek:
