Post by: C18WWN on December 30, 2011, 01:57:18 PM
HELP!!!!

I cant get my FD started for love nor money

Is there anyone in the southwales area confident enough to do the tow start?

I\'ve not driven the thing since before Christmas :-( just got new tyres put on the back, and spark plugs got delivered today

Any help would be greatly rewarded!!!

Thanks

Mark

Put new plugs in and tow start it. You may have to give it a good tow but it is the easiest way.

Try sticking the battery on charge first, may have gone weak whilst being sat and the colder weather can kill them !

Hope you get it started.

Battery was fully charged today and still nothing...

Its absolutly :censored::censored::censored::censored:ing down at the moment, so not really in the mood for changing the plugs... was kind of hoping for a miracle this Avo...

Whats the score with the tow start?

I\'m not too confident in doing this, and am sure my old man would object

Tow the RX7 from its towing eye with a rope by another car and use 2nd gear with igntion on in the FD and clutch depressed, when up to around 10 to 20 mph ease out clutch and maybe use some accelerator pedal until engine starts firing, if it starts straight away keep it going with accelerator, remove tow rope then take it for a decent drive maybe 20 miles. If it is a bit rough at first keep going until smooth as plugs maybe fouled up and need clearing.
EVERY time you switch engine off take revs up to 3000 rpm and then when igntion is turned off put accelerator pedal flat to floor until enmgine stops turning, this will help it not to flood again.
