Post by: jetpilot on June 30, 2004, 07:14:38 PM
Hi again, whats the best ecu to use on a second gen. Stick to Power FC\'s or is there something better out there.

After the Apexi there is Motec, Pectel, Bosch.... But they all cost loads of money.

Power FC is expensive for FC as there isn\'t a plug in job, you need to get a special kit (loom \'converter\', couple of sensors and of course bits inc MAP sensor for conversion from AFM) to make it work on the FC.

Easier/cheaper would be MicroTech. I think the UK dealers might actually be getting the latest computers thru now - or u can get one from overseas, might find installation and tech support a bit expensive here tho if u go that route! ;)

Pip has probably used them the most over here, Geff and Tim have installed and tuned them too (they were also participants in the MicroTech Global seminar last year in Aus).

I think they will become quite popular over here, like they are in the US and Aus.

Pip (WGT up north), Geff (RE:Worx in Pompey) and Tim (RX Motors in Dorset) are all UK Dealers for MicroTech as I undestand it. So speak to one of them if u want more info.

Thanks 20B, thats a massive help. It seems like there is a world of info for the 3rd gen, but not so much for the 2nd.
Thanks again.

Strangly, everyone\'s finding it tricky to get Microtech LT8/LTX8 currently. I\'ve just ordered a few, I can get them within 2-3 weeks if needed (I\'ve just ordered a few for Tim when I put the order in for mine) PM me if interested.
