Title: Warning Warning Warning
Post by: merlin2002 on December 12, 2011, 08:47:51 PM
Hi guys
Please make note do not buy my old car which is on ebay
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140657793115&category=18211&_trksid=p5197.c0.m619]http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140657793115&category=18211&_trksid=p5197.c0.m619[/URL (//%5BURL)]
as he claims it has a good compression which is a lie as it was sold to him as needing repair!
He tonight has sent a copy of the compression test to one of my friends and to my horror he has made up a invoice which has my name on it stateing it had a compression test done by a garage which it never ever did in my ownership!!!

You\'ll love this...

My question...

Hello dude

When did you have the compression test done and was it done by a Rotor compression tester?

Cheers

Tom

His reply-

hi tom,
a company called OMS auto care did it in june this year, the car has only done 1000 miles since then,
the actual test is very simple and the same as a piston compression test
cheers
ben

Oh dear...

My reply....

Sorry dude. That is not the case. The Wankel engines need to be compression tested by a PROPER mazda ROTOR compression tester. If it was done the same way as a piston engine then the results aren\'t going to give an accurate reading of engine condition. Has it been rebuilt?

Ask if the head gasket has been replaced

Wow!! The chap who did the testing using only a piston engine tester must be pretty skilled reading all 3 faces with that equipment :rollin:rollin:rollin
Someone needs to book a vewing armed with a proper tester :Giggle

You might find that the compression on that face is correct, the other 2 faces per rotor have no compression :rollin

lol since when have you ever seen a receipt for a company with no phone number on.

Merlin have you not tried e-mailing him asking what the game is and remove the receipt or you will report him to the 5.0 or some thing like that.

The worsted bit is he knows its dodgy so he\'ll keep his name and address out of it as much as he can but your Name and address will be on the V5 so if it blows up you may get an Angy chap at your door. (Hope you got your section of the Log book sent off and all squared away this guy sounds like its not the first time he\'s ripped some one off)

Maybe an e-mail to these guys too asking why you name has appeared on one of there receipts without the work ever being carried out?  make sure you send them a copy of the e-bay pic and listing.

Might be worth having a quick call to the garage.

Did you own the car on the invoice date - if you did and the car never went there let them know you\'ll be having a word with Customs & Excise about the VAT charged.

Good spot - there is no VAT number or invoice number either, so clearly not genuine as a business would be in serious breach of HMRC rules without these present on an invoice!

You do not need a VAT number on an invoice - mine don\'t have one, the business does not turnover enough to require VAT registration ;)

There should be an invoice number though, otherwise how would they reference it?

Ah, but the invoice shows VAT has been levied, so the business must be VAT registered. That being the case the HMRC rules are very clear, it MUST carry a VAT number, as well as an invoice number.....;)

I was just about to say the same, VAT charged but no VAT number.
Dave.

Also the VAT figure is wrong, it\'s actually £28.00!! When working out your VAT you use a process called rounding whereas if a figure is say £27.996667 (as discribed in this invoice) you need to increase to a penny above so it would work out at £28.00.  If it worked out at less than a 5 on the third figure after the decimal point then it would have been £27.99 :Typing
