I\'m thinking about getting rid of the sunroof on mine, what exactly needed trimming?

I think ideally, I just need to lose all the motor and rail gubbins, remove the rubber trim and just weld in the sunroof plate, failing that, just weld/pop rivet a sheet of ally over the hole?

vert roll cages are rare to come by as the rear arms are different to the coups. would need to get the rear arms ... edited (cant think of the word... cut and rewelded..) ah.. modified lol

1/2 cage might fit ok depending how high the roofline sits as its mainly the sunroof mechanism at the front thats in the way.

Any chance you could weigh that? I might consider removing mine if it\'s a decent amount. Plus I haven\'t fitted a RC myself yet.

I also didn\'t want a dash dodger bolt in cage as I would have to drill through the floor to fit it etc, I will go for a full weld in cage at some point.

So to clarify, are we talking both full and half cages being an issue with the sunroof?

I have a half cage/rear cage from Japan for my UKDM car and am now worried...

That sux ass.

Took the interior appart except the upper a and b pillars, and the head liner.

If i need to get it out that would change a lot here cuz i need to find a diff spot for the gauges as i rather dont have them in front of the warning lights. And if the roof motor has to go, that would a be a disaster... dont want that lol.

If i got it i need to pre fit it anyway cuz i dont have bucket seat yet, lets hope, and i\'ll post some pics here.

if you have a jap cage its very easy to cut 40mm off the leg and weild the fitting plate back on again, thats what i was going to do but i dont need a sunroof and its a heavy part,

Its not, actualy.

It is designed for RHD, that\'s why that 5th bar is going from left rear to upper right. In my case, LHD car, it shoud go to the upper left corner.
