Title: Does 1995 import FD need cats?
Post by: Grub2000 on November 16, 2011, 01:02:51 PM
Would a 1995 FD import legally be required to have a cat? I know earlier years don\'t but i am not certain when the cut-off point is for imports.

I\'m prety certain 93 is the cut off for cats. Anything after requires one, however I\'m sure if you have a friendly MOT guy he will pass it for you.

Legally im not sure any car needs as cat, it purely there to help the car meet emission standards.  If your question is more related to the MOT, then import rx7\'s up to mid 95 can be tested on the 3.5%co2 non cat test.

Yes it is mot related. I don\'t want to have the hassle of putting cats on just for the mot. Also wasn\'t sure if you could get done by the police if you didn\'t have cats.
