Hi all,
I am seeing to buy an FD.
I wanted to have your feedback on people who make a lot of track with their cars.
In your opinion what are the changes to be made in addition to this configuration:
The engine is fresh rebuild, (not porting, full stock spec rebuild)
clutch new (stock spec)
hose clutch aviation
new water pump
new ingnition leads
new fuel filter
Oil catch tank
exhaust setup:
DP+ high flow Bonez+xs power catback (i\'m looking to exchange with the R&B cat-back for better looking et more quiet)
The turbos are revised (zenki model) and ported wategate.
Twins HKS induction
Elbow HKS
Efini Y-pipe
Cooling
Peter Farell IC
fan swtich mod
Koyo rad
Silicon hoses
AST famspeed
Re amemiya 0,9b pressure caps
Electronics:
Knightsport ECU (i think a Power FC looking better with a great mapping in Uk?)
TT greddy.. and some gauges ( water/oil temp, oil press, Turbo boost, fuel pressure), an AFR is really needed?
for the chassis:
KYB+eibach springs (not better but not money for real Nitrons or other kit)
the car has a new bushing delrin kit
Aviation brakes hose.
the reste is stock specs for brakes. (upgrade in future..)
My first concern would be to make the circuit without having to worry all the time if the car does not heat up too. As you could see my setup engine is not very important. I\'m interested in all good advice. By the way my FD has both original oil coolers, do you think, that change for bigger would be better?
Many thanks in advance folks, :cheers
Sorry for my broken english! :Santa

Thanks Jon, i noted your email for some future parts. :yes
I forgot to mention that the car will make not only trackday! It is also for week-end and holiday (polyvalent use). But I prefer to spend a lot of time thinking about the setup-track because I run on circuit with a lot of friends in Lotus honda SC (and NA) and others with 996/7 GT3 RS, i know it\'s very difficult to follow this cars (with great drivers) but it\'s for just make fun with all of us. ;)
I don\'t want a very powerful car, but just a great balanced (lot of work for the future chassis) car with perfect cooling/adjusment for the engine. :InLove
Welcome to Mazdarotaryclub,
Please keep us informed on your cars progess as we have lots of people from all around the world who will be interested in your project.
Thanks Clive! :yes

I suprised and overtook a couple of 997 GT3RS drivers at the Nurburgring earlier this year and they we\'re trying as hard as they could. Just wish I\'d had a picture of the first one\'s faciial expression.
And I\'m no gifted driver, his lines we better than mine, I was just a bit braver. So if you\'re already well into you track driving the FD is a potent weapon. Good luck they\'ll soon be eating your dust :Thumbs-up
The 996 GT3 RS is a great car.. if you can go hard with them (very hard to drive at high speed, with his rear heavy engine) but very fast in mid-short track, for experience of many friends. The 997 had the engine reloacated and better balanced apparently.
I had never tracked a FD, but i think it\'s a very great balanced car with little suspension setup upgrades.
My principal worries is about the cooling. If you know what is the best thing about that (or in additionnal with the parts of the FD what i am looking for).
Many thanks guys! :WaveBye
