This might seem like a lazy thread but I just spent the best part of an hour writing out every little detail about my car and my stupid browser crashed so I lost it all and I really cant be bothered to write it all out again so you\'ll just have to ask me for details. Sorry but I\'m really fraustrated now :-(
Here pics:-

£5750 or sensible offers
understand your frustration but just think of everyone else that reads that, sees a fine looking red FD with a price and no details as to mileage, spec, rebuild, tax, MOT etc etc....
Sadly, not done yourself any favours... :P
GLWTS no less... :)
I will put up the details again when I\'m not so stressed at my computer.
At least people know its up for sale and I can guage interest
ok this time I wrote the advert out in a Word Spreadsheet first and now I can copy and paste it over lol. So here we go:-
J Reg Mazda RX7 FD3s Efini Type R
I have only owned this since April. I purchased it off an ex member on this site. I had always wanted one of these cars and happy to have owned one but now its just going to sit there over the winter and it seems a shame. Plus I would rather have the money now. As much as I have enjoyed owning it and meeting some of you at the local meets I feel it was kind of a summer romance lol. Time to sell now.
As it was such a short time ago here is the original advert that was posted on this site by the previous owner:-
(Remember this is the previous owner talking in this part of the ad)
I have owned it since 2006 and bought it from the well know builder Jason from super7. He had it freshly rebuilt before I bought it which I have a copy of the paper work and was rebuilt at 93000km. But being my first rx7 I unfortunately overheated it so had to take it back to be rebuilt which again I have the paperwork for this rebuild was done at 100,000km.
Took it back after 750mile to have it serviced and been fine ever since. Since this I have had a new clutch, rad, wiring harness fitted 2 years ago that wasn’t cheap but have no proof for this work, I paid Jason cash to get it cheaper.
Had the car re-sprayed two years ago but again paid cash to get it cheaper so have not paperwork
My most recent service was at Hayward Rotary last march which I had full service at £175
Compression test came back with:
Front rotor
7.1 bar
7.1 bar
7.0 bar
Rear rotor
6.9 bar
7.0 bar
6.8 bar
Which I was told it still very good and the engine is very strong
Now just a list off stuff it has and things I have bought/upgraded:
117300km on the clock so only done 17000km since rebulid
Speedo is converted to mph but miles still read in km
Original 99 spec spoiler
19" Mania Vortex alloys wrapped with Avon tyres £1100
Flared front arches
Resprayed
Front Red leather seats
RE turbo guage behind steering wheel
Cubby hole ashtray (rare)
under cd player tray (rare)
JCV Dvd player
HKS Jasma exhaust
Foglight conversion to rear lights
Baileys Dump valve
So that was the previous owners advert back in April when I purchase the car. Since then:-
The first thing I did was get the wheels refurbished as the Mania Vortex Alloys are well known as I found out to have a bad finish and they really let the car down. I had them completely redone and had them custom coloured in black chrome with a slightly lighter lip. Now they look amazing and really set the car off. And I have looked after them and are still mint with no kerbing. The centre caps being plastic obviously couldn’t be powder coated so I sprayed these black myself.
The wheels were professionally done by Wicked Wheels in Guildford and cost me £312. At the same time as having the wheels done I also had a new near side rear tyre fitted as the previous owner had run a bit low pressure causing bulges in the side wall. I replaced it with the same tyre so they all matched and cant remember the exact price of the tyre. Think it was £165.
While the wheels were away having their refurb I had the car on axle stands which gave me and a mechanic friend the chance to give her a mini service. This included:-
New front brake pads. Previous owner had recently done rears but hadn’t got round to doing the fronts.
Brake and clutch bleed. Just as well as fluid in there wasn’t nice. Lol
I also cleaned up the calipers and painted them to match the car.
Coolant flush.
Oil change and Filter.
Also changed the side light lenses as the old ones were a bit yellow. Still have the originals if you would like them for spares. And at the same time I also uprated the headlights to xenon bulbs for a brighter light and the side lights too.
I also had difficulties turning the key in the ignition. Upon doing some research I determind it was easier to change the whole steering column rather than dealing with the sheer bolts holding the ignition barrel to the steering column. So I purchased a second hand column from a 99 spec car from Dragon performance at £50 and fitted that again with the help of my mechanic friend. And again I kept the original steering column with ignition barrel still attached if you want that. Of course having changed these items it does mean there is now a different key for the ignition to the rest of the car.
Having a different key for the ignition to the rest of the car however is not an issue as I also had remote central locking fitted with a Sigma Cat 1 alarm system. This was professionally fitted by Ian Bannings in Guildford which cost me £540.
The car now has 119206 on the clock. But remember a lot of that was KM as the clock was only recently converted to Miles. So since purchasing the car in April I have only done a couple of hundred miles.
Tax till 31st May (Cheap tax bracket. Just £130 for 12 months)
Mot till 12th January (But I have had the guys at my local garage check her over as I was concerned when the previous owner had said that he struggled to get it through on emissions but he had a new Cat fitted and now it gets through no problem. They also picked up that the window washer motor was a bit intermittent so had that sorted to ensure it will get through the MOT. And also fitted some new wiper blades)
She has been well looked after during my ownership. Always allowed time to warm up properly and cool down properly. And I have never had her on a track day or anything like that. I just used her as a nice cruiser for the summer.
Anything else you would like to know please feel free to ask either on here so I can answer that question for everyone. Or via email at carlbrain@hotmail.com
I can see why you were frustrated - if I wrote that much and lost it all I\'d have kicked a hole in my computer screen
Oh it did nearly go out the window lol. I hate computers
i did that before and punched the laptop luckily i got a screen and fitted it,anyway good luck nice looking car
Lol thanks

So you open to offers ??

Would have to be a very close sensible offer. I\'m losing a lot of money on the car as it is. And not in any rush to sell. If I can\'t get what I want for it I\'d rather just keep it for another summer of fun to get my money\'s worth.
So would £4800 take off your hands ??
Quote from: Frankie2531;808467So would £4800 take off your hands ??
I guess I could reluctantly accept that as its only a couple of hundred off. Could easily end upspending that advertising it for the next few months. So as long as you are serious and there will be no further beating me down on price once you\'ve seen the car in the flesh. Then I would accept your offer. But if you come and see the car and aren\'t happy for whatever reason then that\'s your choice. I just can not afford to let it go for any less than that.
If I could have your mobile that would be great are you free next sat at all ??

Well as I\'m not a full member on here I can\'t send you my number and don\'t want to post it on here so send me an email at carlbrain@hotmail.com and will give it to you through there. With regards to Saturday. I work Saturdays. My days off are Friday\'s and Sunday\'s.
On eBay again
...bump...
Bump. Offers...
Is it really worth advertising anywhere other than eBay? I know there are lots like piston heads and gum tree and auto trader etc but everyone knows eBay and surely it\'s the first place most people look anyway right?
I would try piston heads and try Facebook, sounds weird but so many people use facebook

+1 for pistonheads, you still get the odd time wasting enquiry but not half as many as my ebay experiences. Be very clear you dont want any p/ex though, you will still get some even with that in the add but not half as many trying to swap their drift ready piece of sh*t (read "lowered" with coloured wheels and beaten to death, that they think is worth millions) if you dont put something like no p/ex!
Thanks for the advice I shall consider my options. I\'m planning on taking it to a local car meet on the 4th of march with a for sale sign in the window. See if I get any interest.
£4750 anyone?
Now back on Ebay at lowered price and on Pistonheads. Will accept sensible offers.
Another bump.
FINAL REDUCTION £4500 Bargain!
No offers now.
I wont go lower than this. I have put too much time money and effort in it to let it go any less. Already making a huge loss as it is.
Just need the money now people.
Be quick if you are serious and want a test drive as will soon be sorn off the road.
whats the MOT situation now mate?
Fresh mot was only put on in Jan. So that doesn\'t run out till next Jan. Tax runs out in May.
Another bump.
Bump bump bump
Right £3995 now people. I really wont take a penny less than this now. I\'m losing thousands on it as it is. But need this gone now. Baby on the way.
Took the car for a drive today. Still sound as a pound. Didn\'t miss a beat. If you are interested and want a test drive let me know soon though as when the tax runs out the car will be sorn.
Fancy a r33 gts ??
Don\'t need another car to be honest. I have my Subaru. Just need the money. Though I may consider a part x for a car that\'s going to be easier to sell than the rx7 or a more modern car that is very cheap to run.
Bump to top.
Still got my gts if you like ??
Tax runs out soon people. I\'m going to have to sorn it off the road. If you are interested please let me know asap.
Car is now back on eBay. Bidding this time with very low reserve. Lower than the price I am asking on piston heads. Just really need this gone now. I have my little man to think about.
Anyone bidding? My reserve is just £3499.99 but ideally need a lot more than that.
My reserve has been met. Its going to sell. Anyone else interested in bidding?
Provisionally sold awaiting payment.
SOLD SOLD SOLD
Eventually sold to a guy in Switzerland for £3,800
