Yellow Gen 3 Rex parked up at lakeside today , had a v.strange bonnet on it , erm looked like "fins" cut into it,
hard to explain but :wave
Sounds like Garys (G11ARY). Scoot bonnet.
i was over there with another Pulsar, and had a look at the REX was parked near the cineam, looked v.swish,
think i saw this one at the serivces the other day too (south mims) last sunday,
ah scoot bonnet, does that make much difference to the top end or something? whats wrong with the normal bonnet? the rex is v.aerodynamic thougth thaty would hinder it? no?
Most people change the bonnets because they look nice, but FD\'s suffer from heat so anything that gets rid of it is good.
Im sure it works in traffic, as to how well it actuallyworks on the move who knows!
ah right didnt kow they suffered from heat, bit like the pulsar then
The fins coupled with the hole in the front must keep the engine bay pretty cool when on the move, it gives all the warm air somewhere to go straight away :)
Im a bit geeky on stuff like this, and just because something has a vent doesnt mean it works.
Its possible to put a vent in you think will be good and find it buggers everything up. Im sure thats not the case in this situation as many people have guages for temps, but the standard bumper and under bonnet area is bound to be flow tested. Cutting a hole somewhere could easily change the high and low pressure areas under the bonnet which could make the air flow badly.
Thats why Id like to see some proper state on all the bonnets available, but I guess its never going to happen.

Thats me, Got dragged to Bluewater Sat and Lakeside Sun.

Totally agree Lee; I\'m sure venting is good, but I\'d like to see proof that pressure zones are being utilised properly rather than just a random chopping of holes and hope for the best...
I keep thinking of getting a bonnet ready for mine (amongst several hundred other things of course!) but I cant decided what looks as if it actually might work properly? Hey ho...
Hello :wave nice Rex
top tip: next time park in an actual parking space and dont leave it by the side of the car park :D ;)
looked v.swish thou

And bluewater\'s 2 quid cheaper to get to than chavside :D

spaces were hard to find and the fact that its on clear veiw means less chance of being keyed or broken into as there is always someone looking round it, rather than hidden in between cars.
another thing with all the vented bonnets is a lot of them have catch trays to stop the water. These must block a lot of the air leaving the engine anyway.
