can steel braided fuel line be run the the full length of my rx4 from the fuel tank in the boot, underneath the car, around my injector rail and back to the FPR regulator? i am planning to do the underneath car fuel line in solid line but was just wondering if it could be done with braided.
if not, why not??
is it down to the liklihood of damage or would there be too much flex and expansion in the line when the FPR tries to maintain a constant pressure in the fuel line?
Can\'t see why not other than its an expensive way to plumb a fuel system :eek
at £10 a metre it definately isnt cheap!! with the rx4 being somehwere near the length of a small yatch(similar to a dodge charger lmao) i dont think they make braided line that long!! hahaha
Might as well just buy hosepipe and wrap it in chainmail :rollin

have you seen the price of chain mail? more than fuel line!!!!:Nono!

I do like how you thought about it and weighed up the options though :rollin
What size are you going with? Im going with some AN8 hardpipe, then the Y pipe splits off into AN6s on the rails
AN6 for the moment as i have been told is more than enough fuel for 550HP. however my swirl pot has a second outlet on it so i can run 2 x bosch 044s with AN6 lines, one to each fuel rail. and my FPR has 2 inlets.
2 x AN6 should be good for any amount if HP i want ;)
Im sure you can, anyway, normal fuel lines run under the car.
Ive gone for -6 teflon (dual fuel comp\').....two lines one for each pump.....effectively one line to each rail
ED, I had the same plan for my 20b, but Gabby Skern suggested against it! What I understood from his mail was that its a bit risky because, say if one pump fails, you lose fuel to one rail hence....
So it would be interesting to see how this would work out. However, one thing is for sure, Your mapper and Builder (Powergains) are more than competent to do anything when it comes to rotaries-they (Kerim and Jay) are great with their rotary skills!
In London there is no match for them! So I am sure they must have thought about that.

Syed running 2 pumps, one for each rail, and making sure that they both have power is simple. Just use the same power supply for each, simply looping the positive cable from one pump to the other. That way if you loose power both pumps will not work.
Also a dash mounted LEd could be wired so that you know have power at the pumps. Very simple.
Or just listen to the sound they make when externally mounted.
