Title: V Mount Kits
Post by: Richard.C on October 27, 2011, 10:15:47 PM
I\'m looking for information on what v-mount kits are available, I\'d prefer to support a UK manufaturer/supplier and not import from Japan or USA and I\'d like a full kit, rad, ic, ducting, pipework etc. I will be collecting my first RX7 at the weekend and using the winter to perform some upgrades to make it reliable for trackdays, hence good cooling is a priority.

I\'ve done searches on here but almost all results are for intercooler kits that have been for sale at some point and couldn\'t find anything discussing merits of different UK kits.

So by general web searches I\'ve found Radtech, Dragon and I think Re-worx has something but their online store isn\'t giving me any information. Are there any others? Would anyone care to share their experiences of a certain kit?

Your help is appreciated.

Richard

Im running the radtech kit:Thumbsup!. Excellent kit easy to install keeps the temps steady (basically does what it says on the tin) It is the same as the dragon kit. They do 2 kits one has a bigger intercooler for single turbos and there not easilly interchangeable without fab work so make sure you get the one that will best suit your needs.:Thumbs-up

Thanks Lee,

That was going to be one of my questions, I saw Radtech did a twin kit and a single kit. I will keep the twins for a year or 2 but will go single eventually so it would be good to have the bigger ic to start and just change the pipework but you don\'t think that\'s really possible then?

1 of the reasons for the smaller cooler is to accomodate the air filters and pipework for the twins.
Ive had both configurations and to be honest made just short of 500fwhp with the smaller cooler with temps still fine.
so unless your aiming for big bhp numbers the twin set up will be fine hth:Thumbs-up

Thanks Lee, I won\'t concern myself too much about that then as I\'d probably only ever look for about 350 at the wheels (maybe 450 at the flywheel). Just need a well fitting and good performing kit.

I\'d still like to hear any comments about other kits if anyone has them?

Thanks Ed, based on Lee\'s comment do you know if this would fit with twins? You don\'t list any ducting so I assume ductwork to seal off the rad and ic is not included, is that correct?

Ed, sorry just saw the photo you posted on your thread so I can see it fits with twins, if you could confirm about any ducting that would be great.

Also a little confused if you actually have any of the full kits or not based on that thread.

Where about in London are you? The Teins you have for sale are also interesting!!!!

Hi Richard, sorry I only have the basic kit left ( ie the one with no pipe work)...but as you can see in the pics the parts needed are easy to pick up from ebay......RW put up the price on the full kit and it just didnt seem worth it . Plus people have different setups so some of the parts wouldnt get used anyway. certainly not worth it for two bits of alloy pipe and for silicone hose!!!!....The idea is to pass on the cost saving. As for ducting, sorry no it doesnt come with any. However Nell got some made up for her black car (see pic) so its not impossible.

Im based in North London BTW
