for oil just go to Halfords and get their own brand stuff (comes in a blue bottle), its not in the engine long enough to justify (IMO) getting the stupidly expensive stuff like Royal Purple. Been running that for 4 years and had no problem.

For plugs, 9s would be fine unless you are running stupid power in which case you may need to go for a colder plug (e.g. a 7 or an 8). Clive is selling NGK plugs on mazdarotaryparts.com for £33.80 for all four which is what i always use.

Nice car

Get a compression test done and also get your water seals checked by a specialist, you never know, you might have a strong engine in there :Thumbs up:

Cheers

I drove the car for 2 hours today do I need to top up oil to the engine or not and is easy to change the plugs or I go to the garege to do that?

You shouldn\'t need to topic up. Just check the level on your dip stick. Is the car still running the oil metering pump? (OMP) or are you running premix?

Changing the plugs is very simple but can be quite awkward on your first time, just do one plug at a time so you don\'t get the plug leads mixed up.

Mate! In my opinion you need to get this car checked by a specialist! No one here can give you definite answer without actually seeing the car itself!

+1 and cant emphasise that enough! Dragon is probably your nearest!

I wouldnt be driving it hard or on full boost until its been thoroughly checked!

The rest of your answers will probably be found in the faq section or with help from the search button!

Take the car to a rotary specialist! None of us, as it\'s already been said, can give you definitive & reliable answers as we cannot see the car. If it was me, I\'d have had the car booked in the next day before I even came on boost & started thrashing it around.

By the sounds of what you\'ve said, there are a few things that need to be sorted. Get the car booked in, checked over & serviced. Dragon will know the answer to every question you have asked & will be able to sort everything out for you.

If not, use the search icon at the top of the page, every question you\'ve asked is in a thread on this forum and has been discussed alot of times.

Hope this helps

Sam

:cheers

Does it make a noise when the clutch is depressed? If so its got a twin plate clutch lol. I would suggest getting it over to a specialist, make sure coolent and oil levels are good and make sure you use high octane fuel (V power or 99 RON) get it to be checked over, get a compression test done and then you can see where you are, also see if it has been serviced by anyone else as they might know more about the engine or mods etc

Well I\'m not sure but it does that when I drive fast I mean red line and when I change gear it does a bit no idea what I got myself into already nice.and the car has been serviced in reworx for 7 years but they bit far away from me to go and checkt.

Post by: m1tch on October 30, 2011, 06:03:42 PM
Perhaps give reworx a call, they usually have info on their cars and engine builds on file, might be an idea to see what porting its had done, if its 2/3mm seals, used housings vs new etc

For oil I always use millers oils.

10/40 mineral oil only. Millers oils can be found online, they are very local to me so I can drive over there any time I want for oils. Do not use sytnthetics unless the car has used them from since the engine was last rebuilt. Mazda themselves now only recommend that mineral oils only be used in rotary engines.

You may want to change gear box oil and your diff too if it hasn\'t been done for a while. For these I would use what is specced by mazd. Half odds will probably be able to find what oil is used out of a book for you.
