Take the British Citizenship Test and find out!
I scored an almighty 7 out of 24 questions and failed.
Mainly because most of the questions are a bunch of toss and completely irrelevant knowledge to modern day life, like events that happened in the 1800\'s lol
i scored 12
I scored 20 out of 24! :(
Mir
i scored 12! quick, send me back to... err... England.

I didn\'t use google :rollin
Ha ha 10. Guess I don\'t qualify to be here. Maybe I could get deported somewhere less :censored::censored::censored::censored:, and sunny :D
17/24
I didnt use google :)
So far Mir\'s the only one who\'s technically able to become a British citizen, the rest of us failed miserably, except for Fez, who was only one away :p lol

i only drink Spitfire though, which means i\'m automatically more British than anyone who drinks that Johnny Foreigner lager crap.
I scored 12 - (non google), and I can hold my own on most telly quiz shows, and even asnwer about 20% of University Challenge questions - half these questions would be better suited for someone wanting to join Parliament - kind of outlines where these morons are comnig from - why don\'t they live in the real world with you and me ??!!

Love that quote ! :cheers
10 for me. Highest ever in a multiple test I have ever done. I wish to be the first in the deportation que to be sent home
How random were some of the questions!
13 out of 24. Should i be expecting a knock at the door in a minute? :p
Adam
I don\'t need to take the test because I am worthy of living in this country based on the fact that I am awesome.
haha.. 11/24
wonder what the rest of the questions are like.. interesting how they have a queston about claiming benefit.. kind of encourages people to come live in uk start a baby farm and get a free mansion and get paid for doing that :s
Ask not Are you worthy of living in this country, but is this country worthy of me-I\'ve been thinking for a while
oh i only had 8 questions right lol, questions such as how many days a year should a school be open for? i dont need to know im not a parent, its something you would find out when you become one!
you get a book to study befor the test anyway plus some of the questions, no answers are correct, but i guess it was written by someone of todays school standards-rant over lol
Wow........6......... Taxi......
When were women given the right to divorce their husbands??!! Who knows that rubbish.
I thought I bi election was when a person that is confused about their sexuality gets other people to decide it for them? Not any of the answers in the questionnaire.

haha I used to think that when I was a kid!!!!
As a kid I thought it was some transgender person standing up for election in Brighton
Given what\'s happening on other threads/posts can we change this thread to "are you worthy to be on this forum if you get multiple reports"
Sorry, couldn\'t resist. I will get my coat

17/24 - Hmmmmmmmm!
If the department of immigration call I shall not be too worried though, my uncle has traced my family history back to the doomsday book and he believes that my dad\'s family is descended from Vikings, which means they\'d deport me to Sweden. A country filled with leggy blondes, Gatebil and mental car enthusiasts!
Now that I like
Have to say, what is \'British\' anyway ?
We\'ve been invaded, visited, intermarried with by more nations than many and our culture and heritage is the richer for it. but it does make me smile when someone get\'s overly right wing about nationallity - makes you wonder how far back they checked ;)

The wide cultural background of the British Society is something to be treasured. I think the test is asking the wrong questions. Knowing when women were allowed to divorce their husband has no bearing on how "British" you are. If it was to be a test of suitability to live and work in the country it should be far more open questions about qualifications, plans on being allowed to stay, intentions on how to financially support yourself, any desires to bring further people to the country, any shady past and it should only be given in English. That would appear sensible in my eyes.

The vikings that came here were predominantly Danish... ...so my Swedish wife informed me!

You have failed, the pass mark was 75% According to the Life in the UK Test, you have insufficient knowledge of the English language or of life in the UK to remain
Not bad, for being an actual foreigner :)

Personally I would have thought it would have been better for the Romans or the Germans to rule over this country. Things would have been more efficient and technology would have been more advanced.
And if the Romans still ruled it would have made religion more appealling to me as they had a god for everything, no one should claim to have as much power as what the one god people belive in these days

In Denmark the beer is really pricey, but it\'s a bit warmer than Sweden.

Well the Romans wittled their gods down to pretty much just the one by the time they left our shores - I\'m guessing it was just too cold for them which is why they didn\'t stay - oh plus Rome got sacked...
As for the Germans - we probably have more in common with them than any of our other European counterparts - but that would never do... :Nono!

That\'s because a guy called jebus came about. I still think multiple gods is far more believable than one.
Yes were all probably related to those damn pesky Vikings, what with all the raping and pillaging they did. Evil buggers they were. But hey, they had multiple gods too.
Oddly, the English have more in common with our perceived enemies than a lot of our perceived allies. Last two World Wars we\'ve been covering the French, who we spent the previous millennium having an on-off barney with almost constantly whilst warring with the Germans with whom we share royalty and who are a great bunch of chaps, once you get past the awkward silences about the war and the sense of humour differences, they have one but it\'s very different from the British one. The Russians, enemies from the Cold War, again are a great bunch, they like a drink, are very funny and again we shared royalty. The Americans, our special friends, are actually very different from us.
Funny the way the world works!
I always wanted to be able to speak Russian. The accent and the dialect is amazingly aggressive. Sounds like they\'re always angry. Even the women do too.
French...........I tried to learn it at school. Let\'s just say we didn\'t get along too well.
no way only got 10! and im british! surely they could have made up questions that actually meant something instead of all that nonsensical jibberish!

I\'m not proud of being british at all
It\'s only when you move to a different country to live that you appreciate what Britain has that many countries don\'t. Not just crap weather either :p
A massive score of 10 for me!
14 for me..
Although I say 15, as the question about only going to hospital with a GP note unless an emergency is wrong. I went with a note from my dentist (who is clearly not a GP!)..
only got 10 right !!

There are also other incorrect questions. The immigration test states that on average women are paid 20% lower wages than men (which with equality acts would be illegal), and at least one other, I think two others are outdated and now incorrect as well. o.0

I\'m afraid the wages one is correct (don\'t know if the percentage has changed) but women are still paid less on average. Obviously the minimum wage etc is the same and they will argue that there are less women in the top jobs - which is true.
Interesting, so if you all had one question you could add to the test, what would that be?
I shall have a think on mine :)

"are you going to get a job and contribute?"

True!
On two consecutive trips to Sweden I had the joy of -18C when I got off the train in Kalmar and 30C in Kristianstadt. The -18c was apparently mild for the time of year and the 30C normal.
Lovely country and the natives make it all the more plesant.

Actually i have decided the whole test is a farce, as its English and as we all know, a % cant even speak/read the language.
So in essence, my question would be, written in English
1) Do you understand what you are reading in this question?
a) Of course, i speak the language and wont drain the economy with interpreters
b) £50,000 and a free house
c) No benefits for you
In all seriousness, i wouldnt even have a question! The test paper would be written in English and if thats where they fall down, not a chance your staying here!
The test should consist of questions relevant to modern-day living with a POSSIBLE bit of history. Mainly popular history - what is Big Ben?
The main questions should be things like What is the current minimum wage?
What is the speed limit on X road (which they have one of)
Are you legally obliged to school your children or is it optional?
How old must a person be to be in full time employment?
What is the maximum hours a person can work?
Things that are actually RELEVANT!!!
I got 18/24.....but check your answers....as it claimed I hadnt put down 5 answers correctly....so in actual fact ended up with 23/24.
I just didnt know when women could actually get divorced! So had a 25% chance on that one!

No way? How do you know all that stuff??
Aren\'t they changing the law so that you have to be able to speak English before you\'re even allowed to come into the Country now? (I don\'t mean for a holiday before anyone asks).
BTW AR - there\'s a guy trying to contact you on this thread. (http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=73099)

Yeah....just seen that, about to contact him....thanks for that.
I rather liked History at school, plus my Mum is involved in politics so I have to keep up with current items, or she birches me!
I think the main criteria for being in this country should be can you read and write English with an exam to test, all other questions are bonuses
It think you should be earning and paying tax before receiving any benefits.

I do agree, you should be able to demonstrate that you are capable of reading, speaking, and lastly writing. I put them in that order as reading is imperative, speaking you can always get around issues with using a different word, and last writing.....there are plenty of spell checkers!
It is difficult to express the need to have the 3Rs (oh the irony) when a vast majority of the UK cannot actually communicate to the standard expected by incoming migrants.
The history side, is a plus point, but I do think it is good to have an understanding as to where you have come from.

Ah, the usual issue confusion..
Women, in general, are not paid less than men.
But women overall are paid less than men..
See the confusion??
On a like for like job basis, the difference is very little now (no self respecting company would ever even contemplate doing anything else!).
But in total, because there is more of a trend for women to take lesser paid, and part time work, then women are paid less than men.
Make sense?
Hence Harriet Harmen needs shooting. She has confused the two and so now everyone thinks women are paid less than men for doing the same job.
The issue should be more around why women take lower paid, and more part time work (which is generally lower paid per hour also) and don\'t strive as much as men for the higher paid jobs (ignoring the old "boys club - it\'s ain\'t what you know, it\'s who you know" which I grant you still does go on, albeit much rarer these days..). It is still also inbred in our behaviour for women to stay at home and raise the children, rather than the men which I guess impacts it.
Sorry.. Random off-topic one....
Lies, damned lies and statistics.
For instance, 6 out of 7 dwarves are not happy! :)
I\'ll get my coat!
Just re-read my post and it possibly could read like I\'m being a bit of an ass..
It\'s not meant that way sorry - I just hate politicians going around spouting a version of the truth, but making implications from it to the electorate which the majority of dumb lemmings who populate this planet then take it to mean..
Harriet Harmond being a personal hatred of mine for this very issue. She cries it\'s unfair women are paid less for doing the same job, yet uses the average as this comparisson and not actual like for like roles..
She\'s on my "politicians I\'d like to kill" list, along with that short woman from Liverpool (in labour who used to ride a moped?), Ed "we can save the world from a debt crisis by creating more debt" Balls, and Eric "just one more sandwich won\'t do me any harm" Pickles...

Me too - and I\'d never call you an ass Ace (other words do come to mind :Giggle )
I agree with you and I think that\'s what the question was referring to - hence it\'s still correct. The majority of employees of my company are female but they are mainly in the lower grades - the percentage split is less and less women the higher the grade. Very few women get to board level - I think that\'s fairly standard for most large companies.

That\'s seemingly the way it is. Our company is heading much more 50:50 (about 55 Male 45 Female presently) and that\'s throughout the levels (although moves about 70:30 when at board level).
It\'s just a statistic that infuriates me sorry, because of what it implies as opposed to what it is showing.
One of many useless statistics though!! I mean, on average, you and I are around 98% Ape....

Amazingly we share DNA and other natural building blocks like Amino acids and such with a large number of living things - trees, birds, fish - but no one makes the comparison there.
Perhpas statisticians evolved from a different branch of the animal kingdom - one dedicating it\'s time to collecting useless things...
ah, the results stopped working for me, boo
