well, its finally happened, the passenger side headlight got stuck in the not-quite-all-the-way-down position. no amount of jiggling would get it to move, it was solid.
I faffed around with the adjuster with the fuse in and the battery on, every 8 seconds it would close itself under power, no matter how far I span the knob (I was just testing out the symptoms), so, got the fuse out and wound the light up so I could get home, now the problem is, why has it gone all funny? How do I fix it?
Also, I get flickering in all the interior lights (dash, cheat screen etc) every so often, a tap on the dimmer usually gets it back up, but what can I do to stop that happening too? it gets quite annoying.
peace out!
When mine acted in a similar way it had chewed up the plastic gear on the inside of the winder mechanism and had to be frankensteined back to life again, but when mine did that it would start down, and when you lifted the headlights it got to 1/4 way and made a grinding noise. Sounds like yours may be more of an electrical issue, possibly bad earthing on the headlight relays?
I\'ve looked at the wires, well, as good a look as possible, doesn\'t look to be any problems
Motor probably died. Mine acted funny too.
Replaced motor, problem solved.
ok, cool, will have to get on and do that then, the thing is, there was still power going through it, it kept shutting itself, not all the way down, there was about an inch from bumper to top of headlight cover showing, every 8 seconds it would do it.
