its been around quite alot but i plan on keeping it for a while even if i\'m broke at the end of every month because im filling it up all the time anyway here\'s a small spec list as it stands

Engine/Exhaust:
-Electric fan conversion
-EGR and PAS removed
-HKS mushroom filter
-Rotechniks twin exhaust system
-Twin downpipe
-Twin alternator pulley

Chassis/Suspension/Brakes:
-Tein coilovers
-Tein adjustable top mounts/camber plates
-4 pot front calipers
-Front and rear upper strut braces
-Goodridge braided brake lines

Exterior:
-TII skirts
-TII bonnet
-TII spoiler
-Modified \'widemouth\' EGI bumper
-Rays/Mazdaspeed MS01\'s
-TII/S5 rear lights

-Sleepy headlight kit
-\'Player select\' JDM y0 wiper blank
- s13 front splitter

Interior:

-thrash garage racing bucket seat
-dildo gear knob
-sparco steering wheel

as soon as i got it first thing i done was get rid of the :censored::censored::censored::censored: alloy nuts get some steel ones on there and put a tidy stereo in the car(http://i770.photobucket.com/albums/xx343/aundre-3000/IMG_0500.jpg)

next was the splitter gear knob and bucket seat il just post all the recent photos with this lot
(http://i770.photobucket.com/albums/xx343/aundre-3000/IMG_0533-1.jpg)

next up im going to be doing a full service plugs, oil, diff, trans flud and put some falkens i got up the garage

i was just curious as to what oil people recommend its currently running 10-40 mineral oil

an last of all i wast looking for some advice on the afm adjustment when the car went for the mot they said it was running rich and they adjusted it but after seeing some people say they run rich anyway i was just looking to see what it should be running at

Looking lovely!! :D Nice and tidy indeed! :Laugh

Looks in very nice condition inside and out, hows the underneath held up? Looks very well taken care of!

As for oil people will argue this amongst each other til they\'re blue in  the face so take your pick, I use 10w40 mineral oil as well.

Are they WORKS alloys? Either way they really do suit the car very  nicely, as does the S13 front splitter, seems a popular mod lately! :D

Also welcome :Laugh

Sounds like yours went in the same place mine has gone, maybe it\'s just an EGI thing to go on the back drivers arch, but none the less looks lovely! :Laugh

Its Ginnai\'s old car. If you do a search on here you should be able to find his original build thread from about 3 years ago.  Its a nice car mate. Shame its changed hands a fair bit over the last few years.

Engine bay does look quite nice...but apart from being able to get to the engine better, is there any other benefits from an electric fan?

I like it, not usually into the 3 spoke style but that pulls it off... Probably because its an FC and its difficult to make it not look cool.

Merry Christmas Ade! I sold a car to Timmy last night who also bought this one off me a few years back and he was telling me it had a thread on here so I came on. Love the splitter!

I\'ve actually got an RX8 now ad never once thought to come on here! I alwas associate this place with RX7s.. Ill have a browse and hopefully stick around!

Good to see my old car though :)

Good to know mate. I\'m quite tempted by an RX8 myself cause it\'d be more family friendly then the FC. I can\'t bring myself to sell the FC though.

Welcome to RX-7 ownership :D

She looks nice though mate, maybe look into getting the car undersealed. The sooner you \'stop the rot\' the better, headlights I\'m sure is a quick fix. You have to persevere with egi ownership the mpg is quite bad with them, no one will deny that they are a whole in your pocket for a daily driver!

You could think about transplanting an RX-8 engine into it, slightly better mpg and it will be faster and with 6 gears depending on the model, give one of the tuners a call find some prices. A renesis engined egi would be pretty cool actually, I\'ve now sent myself down a trail of thought that could be Interesting :Giggle

Carl mentioned it on one of the threads. The Renesis is enginered to be more civilised... so gives you more scope for tuning within certain regulations (noise/emmissions/etc).

i think it was undersealed by the previous owner but its the rust on the arches at the moment it take a pic its really bad at the moment il take a pic when i get a chance but i\'m looking to get the shine auto rear spats soon

if i do change the engine it will probably the a 13b turbo lump going in to it
but it wont be anytime soon as i cant afford it yet once im in the raf i\'ll have to get another car for getting back and forth and the mazda won\'t be my daily driver the so it could be the perfect opportunity to get it done then

with regards to the lights behind the dials, it probably a bulb out. you\'ll need to remove the cluster from the dash and i think the bulbs are in a twist lock holder. you should be able to get them from you local motor factors

sounds like too much hard work for me il leave it as it is haha

as it was the nicest day we\'ve had in a while today i thought id clean the ms01\'s and polish the lips now hopefully most of the nasty weather had gone away il get them back on in the next week

before
(http://i770.photobucket.com/albums/xx343/aundre-3000/IMG_0838.jpg)

after
(http://i770.photobucket.com/albums/xx343/aundre-3000/IMG_0841.jpg)

there\'s quite a big difference its just a pain to polish between the wheel bolts but there\'s no point in taking them all apart so it will do for now

im looking for some new pads and discs soon any recommendations?

pads wise ive been looking to get carbone lorraine rc5\'s but finding the proper fitment seems to be a pain im not sure if they even do fc pads but alot of people have said they are rather awesome.
discs wise i have no idea ive seen the black diamond ones but the do seem pricey.

what pads/disc combo are you guys running.

riiiight with japfest coming up ive desided to get the car sorted but i aint got long so will be busy for the next month:Thumbs-up

been busy buying new pads and discs along with some bits for a good service

brakes wise i got some brembo discs for the front and rears for quite a good price from ap brake discs
the price of black diamond and ebc stuff was stupidly priced compared to the brembo ones and tbh ebc hasn\'t got the best rep

pads wise i got some mintex ones for the rear and some carbone lorraine
rc5+ pads for the front been hearing good things
about them and the apparently for the price they are awesome so il let you now how they are

service wise i\'m just going for a oil change, plugs, trans fluid and coolant flush

so next week the pads and discs will be going on which reminds
me that the car is leaking fluid again from where the handbrake cable enters the caliper

other than that last thing to do would be to lower the rear and sort the rust out on the rear arches il get a pic tmorow of the rust its got
rather bad over the winter

as you can see not great :(

plus just got a pic confirming that the caliper is leaking again
(http://i770.photobucket.com/albums/xx343/aundre-3000/IMG_0973.jpg)

on another note was a lovely day in south wales and decided to go out

and im already looking for a 4x4 i wont be selling the rx for one thou haha

Nice to see some of the random stickers I put on it survived! Glad to see it\'s still being loved, I miss this car. Get the rust sorted when you can, I always thought it was the only real thing letting the car down. This car was always good to me :)

Have you tried whacking (nicely :Hammer) the dash above the dials? I think the lights on the bottom corner went out once or twice when I had it and some good \'percussive maintenance\' sorted it!

update timeeeee

only 8 days till japfest and got quite a bit to do heres the list

change the pads and discs
oil change/filter
change the transmission fluid
flush the coolant
sort the arches out
get the alignment done
swap the wheels and tires over

ive just done the oil change so thats done

but ive been having huge problems with getting the discs off the hub
started last week got the caliper off etc but to the screws out but
even when i was hitting  it with a sledge hammer it wouldn\'t
come off next up we got a blow torch and heated it up and it still wouldn\'t come off
so in the end we gave up on that put the disc back on the car so i could at least drive the car

after that i decided to fix the leaking rear caliper turns out it was the seal on the hand brake mechanism as you can see its fubard in the rend we just done a full rebuilt on the caliper

thanks mate

told you lot i would busy so i started on thursday this time we took the hub off with the disc got the sledge out again and it still wouldn\'t budge you
can see in the pic were we broke the breeze block we were hitting it so hard
(http://i770.photobucket.com/albums/xx343/aundre-3000/IMG_1028.jpg)

next up i took it to the local garage monkeys were they had a 30 ton press
and guess what it still wouldn\'t even budge with 30 tones of pressure on it!!

gave up again and had another crack at it yesterday with a angle grinder
and it came off and tbh i\'m not surprised it wouldn\'t come off with sledge hammer heres the pics

as you can see the disc was a mess. all that was holding it in was the corrosion behind the hub are the hub was on gave it a good clean
with a wire brush and it looked like new.

so now the carbone loraine pads are in there and they are the muts nuts absolutely awesome brake super hard straight away and feel sharp as soon as you touch the brake pedal couldn\'t recommend them enough

next up i will be attacking the rear discs getting the new pads in and bleeding the whole system with some new fluid

Man I miss this car so much, I still love it! This car never ceased to make me smile when I owned it, and I had it on Castle Combe too! Managed to keep up with some cars I really didn\'t expect, and overtake a few ;] I came up and had a chat with you at the last Japfest as well, was ace to see it again.

Glad to see you\'re taking care of it mate, it\'s a keeper. Keep the updates coming, It\'ll look amazing when that arch rust is gone!

congrats on the MOT

Thanks for linking me to this thread , looks you had miles more fun with the disc than I had

I didn\'t want to grind mine off , just incase I wrecked the hub

I still need to get my disc back on .. and then see what the other side is like !1

400 ouch .. least mine was only £200 for welding , but it needs MOT\'ing around .. around now-ish but not sure when

Thanks for the comment about the other side :( LOL

Gonna try and get the drivers side built back up over the weekend , should only take me about 20 mins to get it all back on .. then need to figure out how to bleed it all

Right so thus is my first proper update on the car for a year now a lots happened since then I\'ve joined up to the raf had another rx7 sold it and now drive a mini jcw

So after the white fc failed its mot I needed a car and saw this black jdm fc on here it was half bridge ported mint to be honest no rust and amazing spec for the price I paid
(http://i770.photobucket.com/albums/xx343/aundre-3000/IMG_1751.jpg) (http://s770.photobucket.com/user/aundre-3000/media/IMG_1751.jpg.html)
(http://i770.photobucket.com/albums/xx343/aundre-3000/IMG_1754.jpg) (http://s770.photobucket.com/user/aundre-3000/media/IMG_1754.jpg.html)

I ended up selling it due do the horrendous mpg and the fact I was doing to many miles in it so I sold it but kept the wheels

So then I bought this
(http://i770.photobucket.com/albums/xx343/aundre-3000/image_zps2222d073.jpg) (http://s770.photobucket.com/user/aundre-3000/media/image_zps2222d073.jpg.html)

It\'s a 2009 r56 John cooper works mini 211bhp ish

Come April it was time to get the white fc back on the road originally for japfest so I got it all welded up and mot\'d but I didn\'t realise it clashed with the the raf karting champs but at least it\'s in the road I\'m looking and doing a track day before the end of the year
