Title: Massive air filter options?
Post by: m1tch on October 05, 2011, 09:54:40 AM
Hi everyone!

I am starting research on what air filter(s) I should run on my FC once it has its TA45 installed, the turbo has a 4"/100mm inlet, so my large RE-A filter won\'t work as it would be too restrictive. I will be running an AFM replacement map so there won\'t be a 2.5" restriction between the filter and the turbo etc.

I know that FlikstRR had a custom 100mm Pipercross filter on his FC, but im thinking about other options, should I go with:

Single large air filter
2 x smaller air filters

I have seen an air filter setup where there are 2 smaller air filters attached to a single large induction pipe kind of like a giant F.

What do people suggest I should do? I know that many high power engines run with just a turbo trumpet with a bit of mesh on it, but not ideal for road use lol

2 smaller filters probably give a much larger surface area for the air to be drawn through than 1 large 1, this should mean more flow with less speed passing through them.
I would go with the kind of large f jobbie
