Title: RX8 mixture too rich
Post by: Vulcan on October 04, 2011, 10:48:44 AM
Hi all need some help to diagnose a fault on my 2005 RX-8

I had it de-catted just after an engine rebuild from hayward rotary, all seemed fine (not even a fault code), put the cat back on for the MOT, passed all fine, put the de-cat back on at the weekend, after a bit of driving it started getting very sluggish and jolting, engine fault light came on, had it read by Kwick fit, and it said, mixture too rich, they re-set it, and I done a full ecu re-set, took it out for another drive and it\'s done exactly the same again, cutting out sometime when I stop at traffic lights and the same fault code has flagged up.

Any suggestions on what this might be? It must be something I have done whilst changing bk to the de-cat as it was fine before...?

Thanks Scott.

Hi Scott,

Do you have the code that was registered ?

Never known a de-cat cause any physical problems other than maybe bringing the management light on
