Title: THanks to Dave & Ray Nixon
Post by: Grant Monkhouse on October 03, 2011, 08:46:27 PM
I went over to oulton park to watch Dave compete in his 40 minutes race in his rx3 12a PP. was talking to Ray all day and Dave whenever I could. They invited me back to there house so Ray could show me his rx4 and then took me out in the rx4!!! Let\'s just say fir a car that has a standard engine with just a better carb on it, it goes really well! And Ray also informed me that the rx4s are a lot lighter than what people say they are. So with my hopeful 500 fwhp rx4 it should be an insane drive.

Before I left they showed me their other cars. All I can say is I haven\'t seen as much old school in one place than this other than at Carls.

Was kind of a last minute thing as my head is scrambled from work and stuff and didn\'t even know if I would wake up in time on Saturday to go over. However I did and even though I ended up being home late for my gf making my t it was well worth it!

Ray drove us over to WGT in his rx4 and I met pip for the second time ever and all three of us had a good 15 minute chat.

Would have been a fun day out - I\'ve now moved back \'oop north\' and am not too far from Outlon (on the Staffs/Cheshire border).

Always warms my heart to see/hear of rotaries racing and your project seems like it could be grin-inspiring Grant!

Thank you. Yes it should indeed be very grin inspiring or maybe terrifying. We will see ;) 4 people have now insisted on a roll cage for my car, which I do agree with after being out in Rays car which is very quick even though it is a standard block with a nice carb on it!! Just trying to find our who does them pop north.
