heres the problem my fd rex wont start its turning over and a very rare time she goes to ignite with a little grumble but fails. the last thing i was doin before this happened was i had the dash out to fit a rollcage discinnecting the the steering wheel and all the connections around that area maybe i triggered something? i have fitted magnecor leads and its gettin spark down the leads ( checked with multimeter ) i had only serviced the car few weeks before and put 9\'s on leading and trailing.
Any ideas anyone i just cant figure it out prob something simple but not sure. it was running perfect before this just drove accross ireland and scotland with her any help very much appreciated
You might have flooded the engine, are the plugs wet at all? Also, have you made sure that the HT leads are around the correct way?
Have you tried to tow start her? If you\'ve just been turning it over and over it\'ll be probably now be flooded, leave it like this and you could damage your water seals :(
Take out your plugs and give them a clean and a good dry off, don\'t try to start it with the key just tow start it and hopefully it\'ll burst back into life :Party

it has been left over night and i tried to restart her this evening it would hardly still be flooded? it ran for a mo but needed trottle to stay lit almost like a vacum hose had gone. ill take out the plugs tomo and try a push start as no towing eye its behind the kit :D
as for the leads i made sure the l and t were put on in the right order but it had done this before that happened i knew one lead was damaged and thought this had gone so got the magnecor leads to replace the standards

How old is the battery? Does it sound like its turning over quickly?
its a new enough battery and was reading 12.9 when this happened. its turnin the engine fine just seems like she is lackin the spark its weird
The plugs will stay oiled forever so whip them out, clean & dry them or replace them if they are old. It\'ll be a little hard to push start, i\'ve started a few by towing them in reverse.......not a great idea but it\'ll work but be carefull :Thumbs-up

This happened to me recently, I spoke with Pip and he advised that I should check the fuses for the ignition. I checked and found one fuse was blown, so I changed it and the car started straight away. Worth checking all the fuses, I know you checked the leads through multimetre, but do a manual check and hopefully it will start.

ok lads had sucess and failier took out the plugs and cleaned and dried them and checked every fuse tow started it and bang into life :)
but bairly she is throwin lots of blue smoke out the back and is not goin above 0 on the boost guage only negative readings :(
i had the plenum off changing the leads could it be the hoses on the wrong way round on the plenum?? or is one of the vacum hoses gone ?

if you have no boost reading only vacume i would sugest there is a vacume leak as a vacume leak will still let you read negative readings but as soon as there is boost it just vents to the aid the blue smoke maybe fuel.
ya was thinkin that too my mr2 used to react similar when i blew a hose :D just wanted to make sure i was on the right path :D

Check the vacuum hose going to the MAP boost sensor (top of engine, mounted high on the firewall). Check it hasnt come off the back of the plenum. this coming off would cause a huge over fuel. hence the flood/smoke.
