Title: fc afm adjustment
Post by: billybobbooth on September 21, 2011, 09:31:55 PM
Any one know what the air bypass passage screw does?
I know it adjusts the air going into the engine that doesn\'t get measures but is there a way of telling where it should be? Not even my very useful Mazda full manual tells me how or where or when to adjust it. I know its been moved and if i open it up to alow more air in the car gets very lumpy the idle has been checked and is at 750 dead on. The tps has been checked and is perfect.
Not sure why im bothered as car is going to have it removed when it goes back on the road but it would be nice to know.

Adjust by ear for best idle once the car is warm - seriously beyond that I don\'t know - I take it you mean the one on the Afm itself ?

Yer its the one on the afm i assumed it was a idle control screw once the rest was set up properly. In that case i don\'t need to worry as it idles fine and the revs don\'t drop to low when aproching a round about when you dip the clutch
