Well not long come back from a nice time out in spain and whilst it certainly is cooler here... i didnt expect to come back to a letter saying in a nut shell \'don\'t come back to work\'....
So amongst the searching on job sites for something in the mean time and having to seriously get on with my freelance work.... i was/am in the negotiations of a very cheap EGI rx7 to potentially use as a doner car/run about whilst my other EGI is off the road getting repaired up still... Now the question is...do i still go ahead and pick up the car? it kinda would seem silly not to and the last time i was let go from a job i ended up buying a rx7...
So what do you think?
Sounds like you\'re going to need a set of wheels to do your job, an FC EGi will do that job! Do it, it\'s win-win!
Do it! You need a car, pick it up! Job done :D
+3 for me :)
Buy the car as it\'s an incentive to get a new job a little quicker to get it all paid for ;)
Dave.
i think i am going to have to buy it :p just going to have to decide what to do with them then lol
Get the FC, its an FC, popups = win, if the running costs are too much think about a cheap run around :)
I hate to be the odd one out here dude, but in todays climate, the last thing you want to be buying is a 20/25 year old sports car that will cost you £3k a time to have the engine rebuilt.
The one thing these cars are known for specifically is that they aren\'t cheap :(
My heart says go for it :D
My head says, without a job, wouldnt even consider it. without a job consider a diesel 106 until you\'ve got a job and then when things are a little more prosperous again... :)
I dont know what you\'re finanical position is like so please dont take offence to any of the above. Im fortunate to come from a reasonably well off family, I live with my mum, have an almost triple sized garage to play with, am 23 years old and I dont have to pay rent and im on over £25k a year.
I wouldnt even for a second have considered buying my rex if I didnt have a job.
Sorry if its not what you wanted to hear dude, just trying to put a realistic take on things.
Fez
For the run around side of things ive got an mx5, in ways this rex would be more for parts to finish off my first rex but then depending on how this new rex is i would either sell it on or break it up depending on how much interest there is....
No worries chap :) I wasnt having a go, just being honest from my point of view :)
don\'t worry, wasn\'t thinking you were :) If i was buying this as my only car then even at the right price i\'d look at something else...but ultimately it is just going to be a parts car/project depending on its condition, it\'s got a bit of tax and mot on it so i will be driving it to get some enjoyment from it but one of the rex\'s would be moving on...
Now im thinking about starting up another thread as i dont know how many people would look at this but if i break an EGI FC, apart from the shell being the main bad point due to rust... would there be much call for anything else?
Well looks like ive got it ;) picking it up later so expect another thread soon!
