well after putting my new ( second hand ) tps switch on it made the world of difference, it starts almost instantly now every time which is great but i now have other issues.
i read on tps setup thread somewhere that you have to set all other related parts to ground zero before setting up the tps so i did. Well i have a diagnostic light on my dash now and even though it starts and runs it doesnt sound quite right, maybe not on both rotors but im not wholly in belief of this as im sure it wouldnt start so well?
What im wondering is that where i messed around with the throttle body screws i have adjusted them wrongly but could any of this adjusting caused the diag light to come on??
wish i just plonked on the tps and got it in the right voltage parameters first before messing with the other screws but i was torn between doing what i read and going with my instincts lol
its progress i guess at least cos my rex hybrid starts so easy now :D
to set one of these up if the car was running fine before the tps went all you needed to do is use the voltages for each stage from the manual and match them on your commander (if you have one) nothing else needs to change or be adjusted.
its still got the std ecu on at the moment, i have not got round to getting my power fc on as of yet, i got the wrong series pfc and am in the process of getting the connecters off a later loom and onto my earlier loom.
I thought i read on a thread to set the tps up you had to de adjust the butterflies so they dont open and affect the setting up of the tps? Now i have ,ade these changes is there somewhere in the manual to get a base setup to work from ?? i had a quick go over the fsm but couldnt see anything , its not the same looking at a manual on a monitor , you need it in your hands - no substitute lol
just print the page off and take it with you. from memory there are 3 voltage settings min and max for the tps when closed when partially open and full throttle. if the throttle body was already setup there would of been n reason to change it. if you have changed it in any way it may be worth checking what you have done there first and then check your tps after.
i would print off a page but i cant seem to find any section which shows me where to set up the throttle body
See here?

thanks for the link but i have already seen those how to\'s and it doesnt help me, i de adjusted screws and air bleed screws and none of those links tell me how to set the screws up . for example if i wanted to set my carbs up on my vfr400 nc30 after a strip down and full rebuild i would get out my manual and see the base settings-
i.e. - pilot air screws 2and quarter turns from fully seated etc...
If these cars came off the production line at some point the screws on the tb would have to be manually setup up from some sort of base setting ?? This is what i need ;-)
does anyone know roughly where to start from on the air screw under the air intake at the throttle body? thanks so far for all your input , i appreciate your time spent with my noob questions lol
The screw on the throttle linkage should be just touching and no more, turn the air screw out about 1/4-1/2 turn
Here\'s that pinout you were after, not sure if you still need it

thankyou very much squire! i have found some later series pin outs but im sure i dont have this one, i went up my friends garage last week and he also dug out an hks ecu pin out booklet to lend me - he was quite excited about the project and said if i got stuck bring it up to try and suss out the wiring. Now i have a later loom and my existingf loom is all labelled up instead of joining the wires im going to pop out the pins out the old harness connectors , do the same to my later spec loom and then put the old loom pins into the later plugs so im not irreversibly altering anything. ( if ya get me lol )
In the later spec pin out diagram above it shows the omp stepper motor labels as motors 1-4 . If you look at the earlier spec loom data it just shows 4i to 4l labelled as omp stepper motor , now would this mean I could just put these terminals in any slot of the new ecu pins which say omp stepper motor?
