Title: cooling layout question fd3s
Post by: RobMatthews on September 05, 2011, 01:19:52 PM
Right not seen this asked befor so i\'ll try to explain/ask clearly...

On my track car im getting rid of the standard water pump and running an adapter on the block to attach the water pipes with an electric davis craig water pump and controller witch will controll water pump speed and temps the fans come on.

so my basic thinking is this, using the adapter on the block go to the davis craig w/p to the rad from the rad back to the block. Then use the rear iron water feed(that would have originally gone to the throttle body) to go to a fill/expansion tank?

Will this work or do i need to have ast in on the rad?

The master told me (Tim), Mazda put the ast in for a reason, and for what ever reason it is, the rotary engine will always get air in the system so I would personally have the ast on the rad. Just my opinion after asking the question.
