Post by: Anthony Bentley on September 01, 2011, 04:36:06 PM
Bored of not being able to drive my RX7 properly so i am changing to a kenlowe fan, question is what size 14, 15 or 16????

I guess fan size would all depend on whether your rad is OEM or aftermarket and how big it is, ideally you\'d want the top and bottom edge of the fan to sit level with where the rad fins stop for optimised air flow, so measure the area of the fins on your rad both ways (length x height), take the smaller of the two measurements (likely height, rads are often longer than they are tall) and get the fan that best fits that measurement.

I run a good quality 14in fan, but I have had a 16in one too (but the blades died)

It was mounted to the rad, I braked heavily for a quick u-turn on the way home from work and the fan flexed into the rad and it self destructed ! Rad was fine though :Giggle

Kimi has a single mk II MR2 fan.

....and KIMI has no problem keeping cool, even after a spirited run, then immediately getting stuck in a traffic queue on a hot day. A thermostat on fan has been set so the temp gauge stays about one third of the way up the scale. When the fan cuts in she keeps her cool fine ;)

Will66 bought a pair of used MR2 fans off ebay for about £30. We were going to fit both, but one has been just fine.
