Well names Ben \'n\' ive just sighned up! paid my memebership 2 ;)

ive been a memeber on the rx8 owners club for quite a while and kept the same name so as to prevent confusion .... i know ive already seen another couple of members that on here that i recognise :bandit

Cool club by the way :Thumbsup! im loving the 7\'s :InLove:yes and infact this is the very reason i decided to sign up here (well that and Clive has helped me out a few times 2 ) Im on the lookout for 1!!!! but before i get any hard sales on the 1s in the FSS im actually looking for 1 thats not running - a project if you like :D mainly because i cannot foil shelling out the fantastic amount of money that you guys draw for them these days - just for a \'well i fancy it\' whim 10k is a bit out of my budget :Giggle

currantly bidding on this 1 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1993-MAZDA-RX7-RED-/270805108168?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item3f0d3e05c8 so if any of you were planning on bidding against me to break it DONT ill see here back on the road with a pretty lick of paint if i get her :cool - but by the looks of things im gonna need an engine for it so you can help there if you like :god

might as well show you what shannanigans i get up to with 8s so heres a few pics of my car and a couple ive bought/fixed/sold - ive got my own compression tester you see :cool so particully busy on the 8\'s forum (and permanantly drunk too)

Thanks, and no, i dont fancy blowing it up really. Been there done that. :2Confused :cool
Plus with all the stuff on mine now it would still be worth more with a blown engine than a lot of older standard ones with a good engine
I\'m sure there\'s one out there for you just waiting to be saved. Pistonheads, Autotrader, FDUK sales section... to name a few places to look

Turle wax is very good to get all those minor scratches covered, i\'ve also put on top of that some Purple Haze Dodo juice wax in the past with good results

ye ive kinda got that with the 7! it seems to be the only car that you can charge more for with aftermarket parts on! everything else it seems to be the other way round - you add bits and no matter how classy you buy noone will buy it because they think a \'young uns\' adit :(

I know what you mean but i also think its what parts you put on. Even some 7s look like they\'ve been driven through a brach of Halfords and look a bit tacky.
Luckily though, most are saved from a life of being laughed at by the likes of us and given their dignaty(?) back and look great again.

i really like jamisons car too ... where did you say parked it a night :evillaugh

tried autotrader, ebay, pistonheads, FDUK - keep seeing this 1 and i think its calling me http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2887029.htm £3.5k is cheap compared to the rest! buts its already done and the thing is i kinda wanna start from scratch and do it all my way so i wanna blank canvas really which is why a blown 1 would be ideal!

i wish id seen this 1 1st :(

if im honest i dont really know whsat im after - or even what im looking at with them - i know rotaries like the back of my hand so the under the bonnet im fine but as far as the actual car is concerned i have no idea i mean whats the difference between ages? did they have face lifts? i know they did and efini 1 and im sure mazdaspeed probably had tehre own version etc etc but thats as far i get :xconfused which is why im here i guess :Tongue1

Dont worry to much about all the different models of FD (except manuel and autos), but yes they did have a face lift. Most call them pre and post 99 models as thats when most of the changes came into place (redesigned front bumper etc)

so theres not a lot init then??? i sappose if i stick to my \'8 to fix guidlines\' i should be alright

-reasonable miles
-blown engine - prefferably just low confression
-looks reasonably clean (but if its cheap enough it doesnt matter)

that ok? or is there more ..... i guess i should read through the FAQ\'s sorry

If your not after one thats had anything modified on it then yeh i\'d stick with those points.
Nearly all of the ones you\'ll look at will be imported (there was only about 126 UK FDs) and so shouldnt have rust issues (although do check anyway)
All i\'ll say is but the best you can afford to do what you want with. Dont just get it cos its got lots of shiney bits or the owner reals off a load of JDM names at you
