Title: Purchasing a FD in an hour
Post by: Edd1Ninety9 on August 21, 2011, 10:25:53 AM
Hi guys,

As per topic title. I\'ve compiled a list of what to check, what do you reckon? Anything needed to be added?

RX7-FD 1992 Checklist:

1.   Compression test. 8.0 Bar new. Over 7.0 bar used. Under 7.0 Bar rebuild.
2.   Engine history
3.   Check oil
4.   Check coolant. Look for bubbles and smell for hydrocarbons indicating water seal failure.
5.   Start from cold. Slight amount of smoke for 5-10s not a lot and not for long.
6.   Check paperwork for:
7.   MOTs with advisories.
8.   Mileage continues to rise â€" not clocked and that change from kilometres to miles was done and adds up.
9.   Last time plugs and oil was changed.
10.   Make sure to know why the “Heat” light is on with the Apexi PFC.
11.   Check for rust in the arches and underneath the car.
12.   Check brake condition â€" wear and current disc and pad depth.
13.   Spare keys if at all.

Any help appreciated. Thanks! :cheers

Check for any drips or fluid under the car when you pull away

the heat light is 100% the EGT sensor mate. When I\'ve grounded it, it goes off, but it always tends to rattle its way out and start flickering on and off. So i\'ve just put it somewhere secure that doesn\'t happen to ground it
