Title: 1995 FD3S in chaste white
Post by: RobMatthews on August 18, 2011, 08:33:43 AM
I have coming up in the next few weeks a 1995 PT chaste white fd.

This i bought through Ross at dragon last year from Japan, with the intention of fitting all my \'old\' track car parts to-engine, single tub, suspension etc. So went about completly stripping the car and refurbishing all the parts such as the arms, subframes etc-see pics(more to come when on the mot ramp).

Unfortunatly plans and health changed so restored her back to completly standard with the exception of the 17" alloy wheels and 4 brand new tyres, cat back hks silent power (almost new) and lowering kit, uprated pads all round(from japan-unknown brand)mazdaspeed ppf, exidy stage 1 clutch, braided brake and clutch lines

Engine wise, completly standard down to the air box:) all i\'ve done is replaced the rats nest/vacume piping with blue silicone piping along with the water overflow pipes to/from the ast.

Interior is also standard carbon style seats in good condition with no rips/tears etc and im pretty sure has the later spec dash fitted to, this car also benifits from having the rear bins again all in very good condition with no damage.
Mot in the next weekish so will come with full 12 months and is currently unregistered so buyer will be the first \'registered\' person for this car.

From the front of the car working back, the car was stripped of engine, gearbox, diff and subframes, arms etc. With the engine out of the way the engine bay was also rubbed down and repainted, front sub shotblasted and powder coated black as standard, lower and upper arms cleaned and laquered along with the upright, brake calliper was also inspected for any leaks etc befor being cleaned and repainted in black high temp paint,

Rear sub was again shot blasted and powdercoated black as standard, arms etc again cleaned and laquered to stop the alloy from fluffing, brakes inspected for wear and leaks befor being cleaned and treated to a coat of black high temp paint to match the front.
all brake flexilines are also braided.

Diff was stripped inspected and cleaned befor being refitted with new oil :)and on poly bushes.

The manual gearbox has new oil and selects all gears no problem
Engine is serviced with new water, oil+filter and also re-newed the fuel filter behind the diff while it was easy to get to.

You will also notice in the pics ALL the suspension nuts/bolts fixings have been cleaned and re-zinc coated and gold passivated ABSOLUTLY NO rusty nuts and bolts on this car! i have not done a half ass job on this one!

Bodywork wise the car has a vented bonnet, which came from japan, very lightweight fitted with flush bonnet locking pins, RE-Amemiya front bumper and RE-Amemiya standard looking spoiler \'beefed up\' . the car has also just been washed polished and waxed to help keep the original paintwork looking its best which is 99% very good with just one small stone chip on the front bumper and one or two very small(10mm maybe)behind the wheels from stones.

All light duty fixings such as wings also now benifit from A2 grade ss button head allen key fixings.

No i have not yet got a compression test but will have one done asap(with in next 3-4 weeks). But does start hot or cold and pressurises correctly etc.

I know i am way down south west and right out the way so will create an album of pics from every angle of anything and everything so you can have a virtual \'walk around\' as soon as it stops raining!, but here are a few from yesterday to show you what it looks like.

Very nice, I\'m just waiting to sell mine and I\'m after a clean rx in white! You are a very long way from me being about a six hour drive! Let me know when you\'ve had compressions done. What sort of mileage has thencar done as seems to not
Have been rebuilt.. Or is it me?
Title: 1995 FD3S in chaste white
Post by: RobMatthews on August 18, 2011, 01:44:57 PM
Milage is still in KMS and reads 108000 i think from memory, its had a rebuild from knightsports but have no proof so did not want to state that, as i dont want to be misleading
A compression test will be a good indictor of the life of the engine though :)

The distance is a problem yes thats why i will compile a photographic \'walkaround\' of the car so any interested people can have a good look round befor actually committing to a long drive!

Thanks for getting back to me, honesty is appreciated, as you probably know with no proof I\'ll have to assume that it hasnt been done and will go off the compressions only. I\'ll have to factor that cost at some stage mind. I\'m after a well looked after good condition with a rebuilt engine. Once you get the compressions let me know. Looks ace mate!

From those pictures I see I\'m missing the little screwdriver/spanner etc set that goes on top of the tyre iron, will have to see if I can get hold of some!

Rob,

Can i ask why the person left a deposit backed out?

When will this be registered? I enquired before but noticed it wasn\'t registered so wasn\'t keen..

can you let me know once this is registered? email natthapon_b@hotmail.com (natthapon_b@hotmail.com)

also is the de-cat come with the car also?

The guy backed out because he decided it would take to long to register and wanted it befor the end of the month,
I was gonna leave registration for two reasons, 1 was I didn\'t want to insure the car to register it(more expenditure I cant really afford) and 2 it would mean the new owner be the first person on the v5 which some people seem to like, I have all the paperwork here ready to fill out.
I can include the de-cat if required
I can

No way associated with Rob and not plugging the car but find that an odd reason!

I have registered many cars and enjoyed being the first owner on the paperwork! From memory, registration used to take like a week tops, why is that such a bad thing when you are getting an a1, never used on british road car?

I had my rx7 delivered from London to 10miles north Glasgow for £240 plus shiply booking fee of around £30-£40, just cant see it costing another £720 from Glasgow to Aberdeen for delivery.

And had another car delivered from near Knockhill to Glasgow for £115

Where in Aberdeen are you anyway, inland or near the city?

If you want I can give you the contact details of the couriers I used, save you the shiply booking fee :)

I had many quotes over 500 including the vat... Cheapest was £425 + vat from York,

I\'m not in Aberdeen i\'m north of aberdeen. No need to ruin the for sale thread with this.. If you can prove me a cheaper quote to transport good AB41 from Redruth, Cornwal it won\'t really change anything as i would still have to make the trip to view the car, Which again would add to the cost.

I won\'t buy a car without it being registered or if some kind of deal could be made that payment isn\'t made till registered, which would be a risk to the seller..

I had started out being lazy with the adverts(here and fduk) only really started paying adertising just befor christmas which is not really the best time of year to be doing it, that and the fact in down in cornwall makes it a hard seller.
Yes im now in possesion of the c+e 389 to prove duty has been paid :-)
Its a learning curve sometimes with new stuff!

Im happy to just take a deposit, write us both out a reciept of whats been deposited and whats left to pay then register the car in the new owners name, can then get some plates made up £7 a pair and attach them to the car ready to be picked up :-)

I have redruth train station 2 miles down the road and newquay airport about 24 miles away.

I do already have somone coming on sunday though so dont make any arrangements yet as the decision may be made for you!...

We do also have tarmaced roads if anyone decides to drive down :cool

You will need to strike a bit of luck if your serious about getting it trailored up to scotland for less than £600,maybe if you prepared to wait for a logisitcs company who would be coming down full and back empty they would happily give you a decent price as its money they wouldn\'t be earning otherwise.

my run up to inverness with empty trailer and rx4 on the way back last april cost me £380 in fuel and was 28hrs non stop driving, for a commercial driver by law, he will have to stop every 8 hrs driving for 4?rest( cant remember exact hrs tbh)which means an extra £50 plus his hours.

I would say providing you dont get congested traffic slowing you down you should do from here to aberdeen in 8-9 hrs?

Yeah trailoring is defo out. But could easy fly to newquay appears to be not to bad from Aberdeen,

the reciept and deposit idea sounds the best for me. Could fly down return to check it out then all ok leave deposit till all sorted etc.. then come back..

Will wait till monday to see what happens then can take it from there..
