Hi,was just wondering if the rotary needed a special tool for compression testing, I have been told today that it does but have seen 2 other people do it with the same kit used on a piston engine, surely a compression test is the same no matter what sort of engine ???

Yeah you need a special bit of kit, a piston engine tester will only measure 1 reading, a rotor has 3 faces so you will get 3 readings per housing, and you have to cross reference it with the RPM to find the compression.
Thanks for that, i have let my freind know this and think he will be looking for someone local to do the test for him. Does any body know anybody in medway towns kent area ???
