Hi. After recently having dirty fuel issues (Have since fitted new plugs and a fuel filter) my car is going into limp mode after about 15sec from starting it. the revs are then being restrained. It revs up now and again but then driving and the engine is \'under load\', the car limits at 2K rpm. It sometimes clears up after 20 mins of driving. I suspect it could be injector related but I am unsure.
I have researched the net and found out about the fault codes but I dont know how to extract them from my ecu, there is no engine management light fitted to the dashboard unlike USA cars.
Any help/guidance would be appreciated. Many thanks. Mike.
Unfortunately the car wont have an OBD connector so you wont check the codes as you would on later cars,
I would start by disconnecting the battery, leave for 5 mins and reconnect
Hope this helps

Ah ok. I have already tried to disconnect the battery but with no luck. The revs are inconsistant which is very strange. Im hoping the ecu is not playing up!

Hey thanks for the link. Though I think mines a Kouki model so it might not work. Im dropping it off at Silverstone Motorsport next week as i have ran out ideas.
Hey. Small update. I had the car booked in for Diagnostics but I had to cancel due to lack of funds after paying out for insurance. Upon reconnecting the battery today after 3 weeks, the car has been running 99%. Im going to have new uprated injectors fitted as a precaution and for when I decide to get it tuned.
The ecu seems to have \'Reset\' itself while the battery was not connected.
Any ideas as to what im experiencing? Its leaving me confused Lol.
could be a bad earth, faulty omp, or airflow meter.
Only a few of the sensors will actually give a \'limp mode\' - the most likely are the Airflow Meter and the OMP (Oil Metering Pump) and it\'s associated feedback resistor.
Other sensors failing will usually just give poor fuel economy or only a slight loss in power.
uprated injectors? as in larger ones?
wont u need an injector controller for them?
maybe worth taking the fuel pump out and checking out the fuel tank for crap. possible to rust on inside of tank creating crap in the tank.
Ok. Thanks for your feedback. Im going to have a butchers today at it. If it needs new injectors, it would also be a good time to get a controller!
My FD has been doing the same thing on and off for months now. I did all sorts, replaced all the vac lines, but now know its the oil metering pump OMP (or MOP) and I was told that there are only a couple of faults that wont store an error code, and the omp is one of them. Some times it\'s there, within a minute of starting up and then it sorts its self out or I pull over, take the key out and start the engine again and it clears up. Not sure what to do as it\'s pricy to fix.
Hey thanks for the reply. I also had a problem with the metering pump. I had the injectors refurbished also.
