Title: Newbie with FD from Sussex, UK
Post by: Brooktini86 on August 14, 2011, 09:32:19 AM
Hello all,

Just introducing myself.
I\'m Gavin, 24 years old and have just picked up a 96 RX7 FD (JDM).

I have previously owned a few Honda Preludes 2.2 VTECs, an FTO, Toyota Soarer 2.5 GTT, BMW 318 ... but nothing quite as sexy as this beast!

I should then be on this forum quite a bit from now on...

I have already left the car with Jason at Super 7 Autos for a compression test, a full service, removal of HKS Mushroom air filters and switching to standard air box and also to find a strange fault I am having..

Which is when the car is hot (or has been used in the last few hours).. It will NOT boost and just kinda splutters, pops and backfires when you plant your foot!
But when started from cold and warmed up.... works perfectly! Very odd!
Drove it home for a good 100miles and worked perfectly! :3Confused

I havent got round to taking many photos as I only picked it up late Friday night and dropped it with Jason Saturday morning!

But here is a few I took when it was at the garage I brought it from:

Hope to start chatting with people on here, have always found forums brilliant, some better than others though :Tongue1

Thank you StreetRacer. I loved my 4th Gen Prelude as well. 5th Gen, not so much!

Ah cool Brett, it came from Buckinghamshire.. only 1 previous owner, was in a garage in Chesham called Karhouse and I swapped it for my Honda Accord which was worth around £3200-3400.

Unfortunately I can\'t make Rotor stock, would love to as I said before, but happens to be a weekend I\'m away at Newquay! :(

Go with whatever company you like best... Given the current price of fuel, s7 has to be the most economic!

Sorry I wasn\'t being biased :). Super sevens are good. Mate works for Jason. And I have paid him over 10k in the past for a prior rx7 and he did a great

At the moment my plans are to get it running perfect and looking standard(ish) inside.

Just posted in the Wanted section actually as I have a few bit missing on mine on the inside.

In the long run.. I\'m not really sure! Love the way the car looks already.. so could just be performance modding :)
