Title: Honda S2000 starter - cost ?
Post by: craigr on June 21, 2004, 03:34:33 PM
I have just phoned my local Honda garage and got a quote for an S2000 start button - £47.37 + VAT !!!

Looking at US sites, you are talking the whole project including relays, wire, wrap, etc for sub $50.

Is my dealer taking the Mick, or is that really the UK price ??

Cheers for now, Craig

Thats what honda charge i\'m afraid.  There are a few on ebay, but they go for a good 60 quid or so.  I phoned round a few scrap yards and got mine for a fiver.....couple of quid for wire and a relay.....jobs a goodun.  If you need a how to let me know as i have a good one which doesn\'t make you have to rip the button apart to make it owrk..... you just need a connector from the back of a 3.5" floppy drive from a PC :)

Cheers

You should be able to do it all, for under £20, with new components from RS (RSWWW.com), or Maplin electronics

it\'s the actual honda starter button that cost\'s so much mate.... not the wire or relay.   Yes you can get cheaper push buttons, but the honda item looks the boll*cks  :)
