Does anybody know what the main bolt sizes are used on the FD3s?
I want to get all the bolts ordered so I can start assembling bits I\'ve bought... Might be a silly question but will save me sometime fiddling around.
Thanks
Eh? Bolts for what exactly? the Body, engine, seat?
Everything, I have a bare shell, generally manufacturers stick to a set of bolt sizes throughout the car and have the odd bolt here and there bigger for something like an engine mount or suspension component, so I would be looking for the generic bolts that are used on the car (front bumper, rear bumper, wings, then the interior sized for the dash, etc)
Dude buying that car has created a very long road ahead of you!
Bumpers wings headlights, most lightweight parts such as the exhaust heatshields use m6. some m8 on the door hinges and various other places.
The suspension i would only recommend you find someone breaking a car, and get the bolts dipped, rezinced, and passified if you like colour(gold for example) they will need baking again though to strengthen them to high tensile.

Yeah I totally agree, it would be a bad decision if I wanted to have it running anytime soon (still kinda is) however its a 2-3 year project so its probaly the best way... At least I know its not someones bodge job and this is about to blow up any minute.. Hopefully I can rebuild a nice clean Rx7 and a very costly rate...
I will order a bulk of m6 and m8 bolts and see where that gets me, cheers buddy!.. Purple anodized washers were ordered last night and the first few parts are clean ready for colouring.
Suspension bolts should be ok, I have some already that I\'ve given a shine... However I\'ve got a friend who is going to make some at his work so they will be minty fresh and stronger than new... I\'m also looking into grinding off where the suspension connects to the chassis and putting stronger supports in as they don\'t look too meaty on this Rx7!!
- Thanks again,
Jake
