Title: Sales
Post by: jetpilot on July 26, 2011, 09:00:26 AM
Is it the way of the world at present with car sales that no ones selling anything and just wants to p/ex!

I have had my Mx5 turbo for sale and had numerous requests for p/ex\'s, such a varying range of cars too! Seems like there have been a few nice 7\'s for sale recently and they have just sat there with the prices gradually dropping.

Is anyone else having the same experience?

Car market is very quiet but fuel / insurance and running costs don\'t help the RX7\'s

I recently took a PX on my MX5 - which then sold within 2 weeks and I made a nice profit on it, so don\'t dismiss PX\'s.

Agreed, always considered, but would prefer to be stuck with the 5 than something else thats as difficult to shift :)

Turbo 5\'s aren\'t easy to sell IME.

Standard cars are.

I beg to differ hence why i am being offered everything from Imprezza\'s of varying models, Audi S2, 200sx the list goes on, if they could sell them they would have the cash to make an offer.

Same on here, seen loads of nice 7\'s loitering for sale.

You are welcome to differ but you\'d be wrong.

:D

I trade in MX5\'s

Sold hundreds including turbo and supercharged and the std cars sell within a few weeks the FI ones can take 6 months.

If you get offered anything p/x thats a diesel then tahts worth considering, I think they are the only things that sell well atm. anything with high fuel consumption are just selling for peanuts.
Great time to buy a high performance car tho:rolleyes:

Your missing the point, im not just talking about my experience with my car, i have a friend who sells a lot of T4\'s and he is the same, constantly getting asked about p/ex\'s rather than cash buyers, which must mean, they cant sell their vehicles either!

That\'s fairly standard, people are lazy, that\'s why there are car dealers.

;)

But yes as I said it is quiet - has been for years.

I\'m finding all my sales are to Europeans lately, sold 4 cars over the weekend and all out of the country. There won\'t be a lot of Jap cars left here before long!!
Dave.

I thought Europeans couldn\'t register JDM cars.

When they have approached me they insisted on UK cars.

My Dad sold lots of Classics to Europeans for the last few years but that stopped then the Euro dropped.

How does that work, they are getting more £ for their euros now?
