Hi guys.
Wondered if anyone can help. I\'m after some info on how to fit a keyless remote locking system onto my car.
Has any one fit one ?
Don\'t most alarm systems have keyless entry built into them?
U buy it as a extra I think an my alarm is not working a it\'s a apexi mobiyss alarm. Only works in japan cos u use your mobile to open and close it and hate using a key so want remote locking. But don\'t know how to install it so after some advice really
I\'d get a better alarm system if I were you, I think you\'ll find any decent alarm system will come with a fob which does your central locking.
If you bought the alarm new it should have come with a wiring diagram, you need to cross-reference the wire colours on that to the correct wire colours for your car using service manuals and diagrams and workshop handbooks (uk and jap spec cars likely differ in wire colour for some reason)
You can buy thatcham approved alarms for <£150 that have keyless entry fobs, the mobile one seems fairly unreliable, especially if your phone dies

Not insurance approved, but if all you want is keyless entry, there ya go
think you miss understood my reply, i have a apexi alarm, the alarm works, but the keyless part doesnt as it can only be used in japan, via your vodafone mobile as that is how you unlock it and lock it,,
i have one which will be put in but i need to take out the old one first as it is linked to the apexi ecu, and has cameras and other functions such as turning to engine on and off via your mobile......BUT i cant put a new one in until i take out the old one and personally i dont wish to fiddle with things plugged into the ecu, so until i get a chance to have this removed and the new one put in i am going to place a keyless remote unit as i keep bending keys due to the shape of my key.
thnaks

DAMM THATS CHEAP. is it any good
I have a Hawk alarm on the Civic, not that one exactly, the one I have on the civic is a Cat1 approved one on the site for £180 but thats pretty damn good, very reliable, this one.

Sonics are amazing on it, comes with additional extras that you can wire in optionally like the alarm going off if the bonnet isn\'t shut or gets lifted up (good if you have expensive engine contents), has the capability for (but doesn\'t come with) self-winding windows, so when you lock the car it does the windows up, central locking, blah blah blah etc
I can\'t vouch for the cheap one as I\'ve not seen it or used it, but I can vouch for the quality of the one I have personally, not sure if that\'s any good to you!
So to answer your question of \'is it any good\' in short, I have no idea. :p
i was buying a viper one with the camera, but i should really ask a poll on what people think is the best for fd\'s
Entirely personal choice! Just cross-match peoples bad experiences with alarms to eliminate the crap ones :)
as standard FDs dont have motors in the drivers side door to remotely undo locks so you will need a motor which wires to your alarm system. I have a TOAD atm which I will wire a motor to.
