The MADBUL, an immense bit of kit, it\'s interesting to see that with drifting becoming ever more competitive that they\'re now tube-framing drift cars to gain an advantage. I want that engine too.

you having that engine is the only way your going to gain more HP naturally aspirated:D:evillaugh:Laugh;)

Pirelli said "Power is nothing without on control!" :)

if you didnt have power you wouldnt have the need to control. said by me.
power gets you to the corners faster and away from the corner faster. control is for during the corner. ; )
I spoke to CLive about which he thought was the better out of the 7 and the 8 ages ago and he said the 8 has it through the corners but the 7 has it on the straights, but overall the 8 was better due to the handling.
anyway the Madbull is awesome, i wonder when theyre going to try a flat slide throttle on it because they will get more HP and throttle response from not having a restriction (the butterfly in the TB is a restriction) in the way??
hmmm maybe this would help them acheive 600rwhp out of it? that would be getting close to mazdas 787B power levels!!

Slide throttles give something like 15% less restriction than a butterfly valve on full throttle due to not having a spindle through the middle of the airway.
I think most of his power is due to running large ports. Apparently the latest set up is giving him 674 hp at the wheels, but in NZ he has to run smaller exhaust headers, which will restrict his power, to get under their 95 db noise limits at race tracks. It\'s about as gnarly as an n/a Rotary can get.

its 574 atw wheels, if it was 674 at the wheels they would have had to put the same kind of R&D into the 4rotor as what mazda did, i beleive they actually acheived 900HP but detuned the engine to gain engine longevity.
the biggest PPs i have seen are Haywards, and they are....well theyre huge!! i would think MAdbulls are similar.
and there is no way he will keep that kind of power level with a 95dB limit, i have seen the build thread and most of his new videos and theres no way that thing is 95dB!!!! PMSL.

95db according to the man himself and 674 hp at the wheels is what he\'s claiming on his site Mad Mike\'s Madbul RX7 (http://www.madmike.co.nz/madbul-rx7) although almost certainly that\'s not on the low noise headers.

583rwhp, he says it at 53 seconds!! lol.
that cars about 110dB on my laptop and i have the volume set to mute. hahahahahahaha have you ever heard Kv cosmo or Steves turbo PP ticking over? they are serioesly loud and they have turbos breaking up the brap a little.
Madbull has no restrictions like a turbo so it will be loud no matter what they do, unless they turn the engine off!

That vid also says he\'s running a stock gearbox and his current spec has him with an HKS box.

i think he was with the standard box whilst the other was getting rebuilt?? running 50 psi in the rear tyres so they spin up nice and easy, stops gear box breaking.

Yep, that video is a very interim setup. The car\'s now running an HKS Sequential 5 speed box see here! (http://www.madmike.co.nz/madbul-rx7)

the biggest thing im most sceptical about the info mad mike provides is that he says he did the tube frame work himself. hahahahahahaha, iv never seen a most dishonest look on someones face when he says that!!

yes i just read the whole thing, car is freaking awesome!!
4.7 rear gear too!! thats a little bit crazier than my 4.672-1 that in the rx4.

You read the spec and it\'s all top line stuff, very impressive. But to understand the essence of drifting I think this line is key:
"Trunk lid modified with vents for rubber smoke escape"
Says it all really. :)

im going to get that on a tshirt!
drifting isnt about being the best its about looking the best, "STYLE". i watched one of mikes videos and he even saiid its not about being the fastest its about who looks the best doing it, which is exactly why hes practicing rear entry drifts!!
