If anyone has time, could they possibly explain in English and as simple as possible, the basics of how I go about mapping my engine for more power.
I recently had the engine rebuilt, ported, slapped a gt35r and loads of other wonderful stuff on it from Hayward.
Carl set the boost low (0.8, 0.9bar) and I was happy just to leave it at that. But now I\'m going to be tracking the fduk out of it and would like to crank up the boost and subsequently, power!
Problem being, I\'m way up here in Scotland and it wouldn\'t really be worth travelling that far for a map.
Soooo, any advice would be handy! (I have an apexi power fc just to be clear)
Thanks, Cliff

You need to speak to your tuner (Carl) if they have added extra fuel in that section of the map, if not you need to get that section mapped on those higher boost cells. eg on a dyno so the mapper can adjust the fuelling to hit the required afrs or on the road with a wideband shoved up the exhaust pipe
If you have the stock map sensor, the limit of is 1.3 BAR, and to be honest about the top of your efficiancy for that turbo , if you want more boost either change the turbo or add WI to hit 1.4-1.5.
But for the track I would keep to 1.1 BAR personally, nice and safe and plenty fast enough, unless you are actually competing
OK cheers BlitzBoy, just out of curiosity that\'s all! Mapping\'s the only thing I\'ve never been 100% on with cars!
wallace performance in aberdeen supposedly map rx7\'s, i asked them about mine and they said that they would do it
do what the blitzboy said..... carl did the engine and let carl do the tuning too..
good luck..
that\'s a place will do apexi tune at westhill..
english clear to you?......

Thanks a lot RotorHeid, I may give them a call! wolfie1, where abouts in aberdeen are you from? I work in Dyce. Got any pics of your motor?
Has all the groundwork like cooling and ignition been sorted before you up the boost?
Well cooling wise i have the hayward v mount with enormous i/c and rad. I know it just needs another map if i want more power. Not in a rush though, i\'ll see how it goes on the track this year.

Yep I have one of those in the garage lol wasn\'t sure if you were going to track the car with the OEM plastic end capped rad lol
Also look at uprating the HT leads, at higher boost ignition can break up, mine made a difference to my engine :)
Yeah i have 4mm magnecors. Makes a good difference.
Sounds like you have everything set up well then :)
i live just off wellington road, this is my car
