Hi everyone,
Whats the largest turbo a single rotor can support? Its a 660cc capacity, so its about a 1 litre capacity for a piston engine, would something like a T25 easily spool on it?
r magic twin setup used 2 td06. so i guess a td06 is a gd starting point :)
depends if your talking ultimate.
a 13b can support a gt47 if required.
since that flows around 120lbs of air, thats 60lbs per rotor
or a gt35 per rotor
ive seen a twin gt30 setup, but not a gt35.....probably because its cheaper and simplier to use one giant turbo
Tempting....

supercharger and smaller turbo set up as sequential ?
do away with the radiator, and use the rear rotor as a steam engine, the heat generated in the front rotor powers your steam driven rear - just need a steam condensing device (I believe there was an article where someone had this working on a renesis engine).
That would be quite impressive.
Final mad idea - do away with the intercooler - run E85 and get impressive intake cooling with the fuel injected early in the air stream - such as spray in on ITB\'s :) :)
Where is that lab I\'ve been asking for to try all these brain fart ideas out..... :Hammer :driving

GT40R, get it running on methanol = 500hp!!! would have to be a PP though, really want do this and stick it in a classic mini, rwd, be freaking awesome, no intercooler, hide the rad in the boot. wheres that damn lottery ticket. :rollin:D
gt40 on methanol would be more than 500bhp, id be aiming for 600bhp+ at 2bar with a massive amount of ignition.
ive been contemplating running mine on methanol permanently since it isnt a road car anymore.
it actually works out not as expensive as people think, since you us around 2.25 times the amount of meth as petrol to hit the same afr it might sound dear but when meth is 50p a litre its not.
50x2.25=£1.13 compared to 1.30 for normal petrol.
if your doing the hassle of E85 you may aswell go meth
ive already got a 2x044 pump setup and a fuel rail in my garage so its just a case of getting some ID2000s and wacking up the fuel pressure.

im alking a singlr rotor engine, one rotor and a GT40R.lo
dont forget lee that methanol is highly flammable, and dont know if race tracks allow you to run it
well i hope your ready to rev it as id imagine it will fit a bar of boost on a bridgeport of around 7krpm, still should make maybe 250bhp!
and if you spill methanol and it ignites off someones fag thats looking at your car you cant see the flane

i have no plan to write on the side of my car in big words \'POWERED BY LOOPYJUICE\'
though if i run at time attack i wont be running it on meth as its against the rules, but i can inject with with a bit of water mixed in as thats legal

i have no friends who smoke and anyone coming to look around my car will get a punch in the spline!!

im talking about a PP, na it should be around 150hp, lol. add the turbo, 10,000 rpm methanol and boost and i rekon 500 hp wouldnt be too far off

do they allow antilag in TT? as there has been a few of this seasons cars in banzai and none of them seem to have it?
well a good guide is take the power of it N/A then add 1bar of boost, it normally doubles its horsepower taking it 300bhp.
now assuming your PP is done with turbocharging in mind(ie correct timings) then running on meth and 2bar-3bar of boost then your right, maybe 500bhp is possible.
Ive never seen anyone do anything like that though, mostly people use single rotors for either planes or lawnmowers.
i wonder if you had a early rx7 or a caterem style kit car and needed to keep it ridicusly light for a competition series then maybe it might be worth looking at.
but you have to compare the weight of an NA PP 13b to a turboed PP single rotor.
unless theres a massive saving and no other engine will give the power output, weight distribution at the same weight then it probably isnt worth it

they allow race fuel, antilag and nitrous, pretty much you can do what you want, one of the only msa series i know of that allow nitrous(i know drag can but not sure if thats msa covered)

it worth doing it in a mini, it wouls sound like a p!ssed off BEE under the bonnet and it would be cool, maybe one day i could do it,

how come the magazine cover cars dont mention anti lag then? im sure i would run that if i was allowed to on a track car, more boost for more of the time, keep a bigger turbo spooling better = more power = faster times.
its just part of the mapping, same reason they dont mention now much ignition timing they run at peak torque.
Plus do you want to give all your secrets away in a magazine.
since this is track and not rally remember your normally always in a higher rpm zone so boost should be easily accessible(well if your driving correctly it will) so its not as necessary, hence it will just be a mild one run through the ecu.
proper harsh antilag will cook a turbo unless your running a proper miriam shaft which isnt common thing to get hold of in all the turbos people want to run
The e-manage ultimate allows for 2 step which I will be running :)
