Anyone know where i can find a rebuild kit for the standard twin turbos (Hitachi H-12\'s i belive)?
Is there any write ups or videos on how to rebuild them? i know they will need to be sent off for balancing but that i will tackle at the time
Cheers
Kris
hi kris why not just replace them? or is this a personal goal... they will not beat me hehe :Hammer
I could just replace them but i wouldnt fully know the stat and history of the "new" ones, so id like to rebuild to know that they are in the best condition and plus id like to know how to rebuild them for my own knowledge
Kris
Maybe best to talk to one of the turbo companies, and see if they would sell you a kit. No idea if they buy in the replacement pieces in the form of a complete kit, or just use individual parts during a rebuild though. Probably your best bet.
There is a company in America you can get the parts from to do the rebuild, I dont have the link though - It was in one of my posts somewhere about reading the FC turbo. See if I can dig it out..........
This link maybe?

I know that BNR do upgraded twins, but they aren\'t exactly cheap, its almost cheaper to just go single than it is to repair/upgrade the twin system.
I\'ve got Mazda Genuine OEM Exhaust Gaskets (not cheap imitations that dont last long or leak) if you need them? I purchased them for my twins but decided to go down a different route - would like what I paid for them £140.
Suit RX7, FD, Twin Turbo
Exhaust Turbo Primary Gasket - UK P/N - N3B7-13-710A - (retail price £170.00)
Exhaust Turbo Secondary Gasket - UK P/N - N3B8-13-710A - (retail price £100.00)
Exhaust Front Pipe Gasket - UK P/N - N3B7-13-491A - (retail price £60.00)
Thanks,
Matt
I think he was meaning rebuilding the turbos as in changing the bearings and thrust washers etc
ah ok, thought he may want to replace all of the gasketts while it was out to save time.
turbodynamics charged £768 for both hitachi turbo cartridges rebuild and balancing, including new actuators. Would have been almost cheaper to go single, but not with all-new kit (tub/wg/dp/mani/mapping etc). the balancing is the key, you can\'t do it yourself and they might get \'unbalanced\' in the post getting back to you.
ive seen rebuild kits but cant remember the link, you dont need any special tools either just alot of patiance and time, about a day
here a how to http://www.rx7.org/Robinette/turbo.htm
i believe they use turbo city but have to ring them
Though if you look around alot of people(mainly people selling turbos)say most are not rebuildable
