I think it\'s time I looked at combining all the above into one source.
I currently use BT for phone - Virgin Broadband - Sky TV
Surely it would make economical logic to use one service provider.
So, who uses what and what\'s recommended, any horror stories.
Thanks
John
I have Virgin TV, phone and broadband and its excellent, never have any signal issues, have lost connectivity on the broadband a couple of times but was sorted quickly and got compensated for the trouble as well so couldnt complain.
Get through really quick when calling them, plus the broadband is amazing, can download 1gb file within the space of an ad break :-)
Thanks for the reply

Sky TV, BT Broadband and Phone!
I\'m on a staff deal as I work for a phone company, but I am on the XXXL package which is 50Mb BB, all channels except movies and sports and daytime and evening weekend calls free which is £42.65 for first 3 months and £67 there after to consumers with free installation
I\'m on the XL package for everything with Virgin... think its about £70-80 a month?
I am with Virgin and just moved house. I phoned to cancel when moving and they said they could just transfer it for me, I told them no thanks as they treat new customers better than existing ones, which is true.
They bent over backwards for me, phone, 30Mb broadband (35 when I test it ) and M+ TV, free HD box, free installation and free HD activation all for £32 a month.
You have to haggle with them.
In uk I had virgin, no complaints.
I have Sky for TV (full HD multi-room) and Virgin for phone and broadband. If you\'re after un-restricted 20MB connection I\'d go for the Sky BB over Virgin.
Fish
Im in a similar boat, i already have Sky Tv which i am more than happy with and Virgin broadband, pretty sure im going to switch to Sky broadband and Hd.
Virgin - Great internet (crap tv)
Sky - Great TV (crap internet)
Hence why here we are on Virgin internet and landline and sky tv
Sky TV threaten to leave and you\'ll get a better deal (there broadband is crap though)
Phone and Broadband with plusnet (i\'ve tried BT,tiscali and Sky and there head and shoulders better, UK customer service and they won\'t choke your bandwidth at peak times Sky DO whatever they say to the contary).
I had Virgin TV, broadband and phone at my old house - about £40 per month with 20mb internet and the XL TV package so it was good.
Can\'t get it in MK to we\'ve got Sky TV - which is OK but I miss having three tuners and it seems to fail to record quite often which Virgin never did.
And we\'ve finally got BT Infinity broadband (after three failed install attempts) which no one else can come close to speed wise - shame their service is so pants!

I\'ve the odd mix of Virgin in one house and Sky in another :)
( Went with Sky because of employee deal at the time )
Performance wise the Virgin is way ahead on broadband and never been throttled, even on the odd month where i\'ve pulled in excess of 20Gb :)
TV quality on Virgin is better on the mainstream channels, though can have some odd artifacts where it\'s supplied to them at lower bandwidth. None of the bad weather pixelation which is a BIG plus and no need to "negotiate" when a fault. ie Sky want to charge you any time they think there\'s a hardware fault, so you tell them you are going to leave and they waive the charges :) Virgin dont bother to ask, they just come and replace the box or fix the cable.
Sky\'s pricing policy means if you want the Sky best channels then you pay more on Virgin and they are bad for restricting new channels so you dont get them on Virgin. BUT as those are always full of US cr@p its not bothered me much om the past.
I\'m, about £70 on Sky, £85 on Virgin with all the add ons in both places.
I feel for you AMH not being able to get cable :( coz speed wise it rips.

We are upgrading in next 2 months to the higher backbone adn will be upping it again :
Biggest problem with comparisons is the differing bundles and add on channels as usually comparing apples and oranges :(
eg. We\'ve got all the sport on Virgin, but only Eurosport on Sky - yeah odd I know :)

I forgot about that - with Sky you own the equipment so if it goes wrong after only a few months you have to pay for repairs / replacements.

I didn\'t think you could beat the Infinity speeds? There\'s talk of putting fibre from the house to the cabinate but it will mean removing the copper first at the pipes are full of the other stuff - like the really rubbish Virgin TV you can get. But 37 compaired to the 2.8 we were getting before will do for me!
BT are upgrading infinity so we put a request in and it\'s been done:

Nice! :D
Cool speeds :cool - I still have less than 1Mbit/s broadband. BT Openreach were scheduled to be rolling out FTTC in my area at the end of March, now it is the end of June. If/when it happens I will probably go with the newly launched Sky Fibre as everything else is already with them. Be great to finally be able to use youtube/iplayer/internet radio etc. at home without frequent stutters/delays.
