Title: Spraying plastics/fiberglass?
Post by: RobMatthews on June 26, 2011, 03:30:15 PM
I am about to give my track car a lick of paint,(using cellulose).

Question is can i do the bumpers in the same way as the metal work or do i need to put some sort of aditive in to stop the primer/paint cracking on a more flexable surface such as the plastic bumpers/fiberglass bonnet?

thanks rob

There is a plastic primer and a plasticiser that is added to the paint. A friend did an old car years ago and added some stuff in the mix to get it to flex.

I would do a tester action to see what happens. Have to make surethe surface is clean before any painting.

2pac paint is much better than cellulose. Easier to rub down afterwards and gives a much better shine.
